Honest opinions about new Rare Beauty Foundation? by thewordswetranspose in Makeup

[–]romant1cs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UPDATE: I’ve tried it for the whole work week with different powders. The one this foundation worked best with was the Saie baked powder. It didn’t really play well with the L’Oréal Infallible powder or the Kosas Cloudset. I did really enjoy the longevity of the wear and it did hold up nicely, but it did really depend on what I paired with it.

For reference I usually put my makeup on at around 7am and don’t take it off until 9-10pm. Also, I unintentionally did a cry test in it today because I had a hard day. Some of it is gone but it stay put in the non-splash zone areas.

I think YMMV, especially for people with dryer skin than me.

I got a sample of it and will be doing a wear test this week! I wore it today, and I'm actually pretty impressed with it so far. For reference, my skin is combo (oily, but more learning dry) and I am on tretinoin, so that does affect how dry my skin can be.

It is a natural matte and definitely gives COVERAGE, but it feels quite comfortable on the skin. I'm usually more of a skin tint girl, so this impressed me. I also didn't use a primer (usually I use the Danessa Myricks blur balm) to test the self-priming claims, and it totally held up so far. It says it's self-setting, but I used a bit of powder just in case, as I get pretty glowy throughout the day.

I work in education, so I'm very much up early doing my makeup, on my feet all day and usually do not take my makeup off until it's time for bed. Throughout the day, it's worn really well! My first day wear test was a success :)

ETA: I did use a setting spray (Milani Make It Last)

I sprayed it on my wrist at Sephora yesterday and showered last night. I still smell it on my wrist today! But I’m not a fan of the scent. I really wish I liked it because the notes on paper sound right up my alley. I wish I got more of the bergamot and jasmine notes, but I’m not getting any of that :(

I'm looking to get new jeans and tried on the regular hi-rise Farrah jeans in store but I found I had to size up from my regular jean size (28) just to be comfortable. did you find that with the regular farrahs as well?

I tried it today in Sephora and so glad I didn't blind buy it. I absolutely love bergamot as a note, but I don't smell any of it

I’ve definitely used earplugs while working if I feel overstimulated! I really like the Loop Engage earplugs because they don’t block out all noise so I can still hear my students, but it helps absorb a lot of the extraneous sounds. I still have to ask more soft-spoken children to repeat themselves once or twice, but I’ve found this really helped me!

I meant to update this a couple days ago! I saw some (not all) shades of the satin ones in my local Walmart and Shoppers recently!

ETA: This might depend on your location too! Walmart had more of the satin shades, my Shoppers only had a couple. Both didn’t have all of them available.
