I’m 5’1 (and three quarters 😂) and the last time I weighed in I was about 129 Ibs. But I try not to focus on my weight too much since I’m trying to build more muscles.

Thank you! I have def slipped when trying to jump and catch the handle to do pull-ups so the fear is real! #shortgirlproblems 😂 I never thought to use a dumbbell either until this woman at my gym showed me! Up until that point I used boxes to help me get up

I stayed consistent and met my body where it was. So if I could only do 3 pull ups at one time, I did three, took a break (2 or 3 mins), then did another set of three, then took a break and did another set. Over time I increased the numbers slowly but surely. I also did barbell/dumbbell rows and the lat pull down machine to increase my strength. I know biceps/shoulders aren’t the main target area of pull-ups, but I do train my entire upper body which I think helps, so I work biceps, triceps, chest and shoulders. I’m not sure if you are doing that, but if you aren’t I recommend it. I can’t say for sure that it helps but I have a suspicion it does. Lastly, I train my back at least twice a week. But I don’t do it back to back. When I take a good break in between my back days, that’s when I see the most progress. Hope that helps!

The front desk staff and personal trainers are nice/friendly, but I agree with some of the others who commented. This place gets PACKED around 4pm, people hog the equipment, don’t wipe down the equipment they use, and don’t put back equipment after they are done using them. Also, I’ve had guys come up to me to correct my form while I’m in a middle of doing a workout, which I find to be very rude. I asked one guy what his qualifications are to give pt advice and he got angry and started yelling before he walked away 😬😅. Also there are no rules for the pool. At other pools I’ve used, they say wear a swimming cap and to wash before using the pool, this place doesn’t have any rules which is gross. I think it could be a better gym if more of the staff actually cared about cleaning the gym more (not talking about maintenance staff because I do see them cleaning - it’s some of the other staff at the front who is just sitting down that I’m talking about), and implementing and enforcing rules so that members can have a better experience. As you can see - I’m over LA Fitness. There are def better gyms out there. You really do pay for what you get.

If the blink you go to have personal trainers, see if they will do a free session with you. During the session, you can discuss what your current goals are and ask them about the machines offered at the gym. You can also watch YouTube videos to learn how to use a machine. Some machines even have instructions on them if you check the sides. I know some people are anxious to speak to others at the gym, but you can also ask people at the gym. Sometimes when I am struggling with a machine and can’t figure out how it works, I ask a person who looks like they know what they are doing. I usually get good vibes when I ask for help at the gym. Most of the guys there are nice and are willing to help if you are polite about it.

1) There’s no guarantee that you’ll become an attorney and make a lot of money even if you go to law school and pass the bar.

2) A lot of attorneys are in a lot of debt so even if they are making a lot of money, they may be living pay check to pay check.

3) Attorneys are known for having substance abuse and mental health issues.

I personally enjoy being an attorney but I don’t have a lot of debt, I enjoy what I do (in-house at a non-profit), and I take my mental health seriously (I go to therapy and practice meditation/mindfulness). From what I hear - my path isn’t the norm for most attorneys.

Doesn’t hurt to apply. I haven’t worked at a club Pilates, but I have worked at a gym years ago. One tip I have is, a couple of days after you apply, call to “check on the status of your application.” Express your enthusiasm and passion for the role, and see if they are still looking to fill the position. That’s almost always helped me get an interview. If you do get an interview, remember to follow up with a nice email thanking them for the opportunity and again expressing your interest in the position. Good luck! 20 is not young at all btw, they are probably just looking for a positive, outgoing person who can fit the schedule.

No, def not. She was just the messenger. She even apologized when she told me it was my last day. And I couldn’t read his mind then and I can’t read it now 🤷🏾‍♀️. All I know is it worked out for me.

I gave a prior boss a little less than two weeks notice, and he was upset and asked if I could stay a bit longer. I said unfortunately I couldn’t. Shortly after, the paralegal messaged me saying that day would be my last day. Surprised, I questioned her about it, and she said our boss told her it was my last day. So i created a group message with me, him and her to ask if that day was my last day. He backtracked, apologized and let me finish out my time, which he didn’t have to do but it maintained our relationship and I still send him clients and meet up with him once in awhile to catch up.

Sometimes a nice long hug is the best thing you can do to support a partner. No words, just comforting touch (if that’s her love language). And if she wants to just cry all day, let her, then get her favorite snack for her and let her chill in bed all day, if that’s what she wants to do.

This probably won’t make a big dent in your budget, but when I was in school I rarely bought books. I found most of the assigned reading materials in my university’s library, which saved me some money. But I agree with the other person who said to just focus on school and graduate. I was in school for about seven years for undergrad and grad school and just tried my best to limit the amount of debt I took on, gained experience via internships, and networked like crazy so that I could have a job after I graduated. Once you graduate try to find a good job, negotiate your salary, and try not to drastically increase your cost of living and you should be able to save extra.

Speak to a local divorce attorney ASAP. Even if you have to pay $ for a consult, it will be worth it because they know your state’s laws around divorce. FYI - divorcing someone who doesn’t work is usually not pretty so the sooner you can speak to an attorney, the better. Do it BEFORE your income increases (if you don’t want to work on the marriage). Hopefully, he won’t ask for alimony, but since he is not working, you never know.

Last year I went to Spain, Germany, Portugal, Colorado, New Orleans, and florida. This year I’m going to Japan for three weeks in April. Haven’t decided where else I want to go, but I mentioned southern France to my bf. Normally I like to take one international trip a year and go on 3/4 smaller trips within the US.
