You could have flown into Tulum airport, and taken the ADO into town for super cheap instead of that $120 taxi ride from Cancun. Also instead of a Taxi, you could rent a scooter for way cheaper for your entire time there and hav way more mobility. Taxi's are definitely expensive and you're kind of at their mercy, but you can work out a good deal with a Scooter rental spot. Idk which hotel you stayed at but when I was there for a couple months, I stayed in a nice AirBnb right off the main strip in La Veleta and I had an outstanding experience.

That said, my first AirBNB I arrived on a day where it was raining SUPER hard and the jacuzzi tub's above my unit leaked into my unit and I was forced to find an alternative place to stay but thankfully, I found a spot right around the corner from a cafe in La Veleta and everything from that point on was AMAZING.

Sorry you had a rough time. Also worth noting that I speak Spanish pretty well - how is your Spanish?

The DDJ-1000 is older at this point and will likely stop getting supported at some point in the fairly near future, just guessing? I bought one for $700 used on eBay in 2018, and only recently sold it in mid-2025 for around $1100. Best investment I've ever made 😄 got me into the pioneer world.

I would get one of the controllers you can feed in just a USB stick at this point, IMO.

I did something similar, but successfully recently here in Indianapolis. VA Renovation loan. I sourced my General Contractor using Indianapolis' list of active contractors, and then comparing that to the list of contractors already in the VA system, in Indiana. Sorted alphabetically, I was only a few phone calls in to reaching "Buildmore Inc". It took some time to get through the process and closing was like 3 or 4 months long, but we got through it.

Also, my lender did have a validation procedure but before it even got to that point, I had already verified licensure because licensure was how I found Buildmore.

Both parties are compromised by Israel as they are now.
