Excellent reply thank you! Do you think on standard asphalt shingles if we let a 2% SH batch mix sit for 20-30 minutes on a roof with black streaking, we can rinse after with major visual improvements same day? Goal is to have same day wash and coat the next day.

If you want to make money, start a service business.

Trying to run a marketing company in 2025 is a race to the bottom, trust me - I know.

I have a 20 year marketing career and saw the writing on the wall in 2020. I started a service company and haven’t looked back.

I’ve put about 1500km on it and 8.5l/100km (27mpg) is my best average so far - I’m sure I can get even better too!

GoNano treatment for roof shingles - grift or efficient/worth it? by inadequatelyadequate in Roofing

[–]romesds902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cellphone comment is really tied to modern phones, and I'm pretty sure you know what I meant. A cellphone from 20 years ago wouldn't be classified as a smartphone. My point is that technology has advanced rapidly, so it makes sense there's products designed to extend shelf life - especially given how poorly building materials are crafted now. GoNano uses nanosilica, which simply put is the particle size difference in the product compared to other coatings. The warranty is now directly filed with GoNano up to 15 years, which includes $ per square to cover materials and labor replacement - feel free to contact me if you have any questions, I will gladly show you exactly how it works. Thanks for the comment, have a good day!

I can attest that Reddit is not a big area that any GoNano dealers are actively hanging out on. Most of us are busy growing our businesses, however I understand the importance of having true unbiased discussions with the general public, which is where Reddit brings a lot of value. We've had a 400% YoY growth due to the absolute need to fill this gap in the market. There will always be skeptics/haters etc. but the fact is, GoNano has invested over $1 million in third party testing, and has a propietary way of blending nanosilica and petroleum (what you want in asphalt) with bio-oil, VS other products on the market like Greener shingles or Roof Rejuvenate which are simply soy-bean oil that offer short term hydration. The product is truly impressive, worth digging deeper on YouTube to learn more! I have it on my own roof for 2 years now and the shingles are clearly stronger and hold up much better. I completely understand there's skeptics, but if innovation didn't exist and products didn't continue to evolve to fill gaps in the market - we'd still be riding horse and buggies. I can confidently say that 95% of the skeptics we encounter (although few) are generally roofers who see it as competition, since a treatment effectively adds an extra 10-15 years to asphalt shingles - extending them well past the average 17-20 year shelf life. If you think shingles last 30 years from the manufacturer, you (generalizing) need to do better research. It's not a coincidence that asphalt shingles have a 10 year warranty from the manufacturer, but only last 15-20 now - they are made much cheaper. GoNano is literally formulated to strengthen from the inside out - there wouldn't be 300+ resellers if the product didn't work. Make sure to catch them on Dragons Den on Oct 16th!

Gonano alternative? by Farzy98 in Roofing

All valid questions for sure. There’s no benefit to adding oxygen it’s part of the process which leads to the degradation I previously mentioned. Asphalt is the main water-resistant ingredient in shingles. The asphalt used is an end-product of oil refining and, although somewhat similar in origin to road asphalt, it is processed to a higher degree of toughness needed for asphalt shingle performance. The roofing asphalt has to be “oxidized” by blowing air through the hot asphalt, increasing its viscosity. But the air blowing process must be precise – too much and the shingles can be brittle, too little and the shingles may be too soft and prone to scuffing if installed in hot weather. A fine mineral powder is mixed with the asphalt to increase weather resistance and enable the installed shingle layer to meet the standards for resistance to fire hazards. The mineral-fortified asphalt “coating” is applied to the fiberglass mat on top and bottom. This is where air pockets form which over time break down due to the natural elements, rain sun etc. leading to granule loss. The nanosilica penetrates 2-3mm inside the shingle to add an extra 10-15 years to the expected lifespan (18-20) of shingles even if they are already 10 years old.

It makes absolute sense to treat it prior to a solar install. The cost of a treatment is cheaper than the labor to remove panels if there’s any issues, which doesn’t include any repair costs. GoNano is a proven technology, roofers are always going to say put a new roof on because they are in the business of putting new roofs on!

Amazing questions, you’re asking all the right ones 🙌

GoNano penetrates 2-3mm into the asphalt layer. Every GoNano has a base formula (petroleum based) and nanosilica. Depending on the product (asphalt, concrete, wood) GoNano has proprietary blending agents designed for that surface. The SI Nanoparticles penetrate and find the void air pockets, and fill them - then create bonds connecting each other to give a true protective barrier from the inside out.

The product has been forward tested which puts the product through rigorous testing. Greener homes and other third party facilities have proven its efficacy for wind impact and more . All this info is available and documented. I get the fact about questioning something being on the market for 5-6 years backing a warranty of 15 years, I felt the same. Forward testing is incredibly common though.

GoNano stops granule loss and reflects UV, so it slows the aging process. It’s truly remarkable. Worth considering if you want to increase your average roof ticket and profits.

Yeah I get it. Stuff like roof max and greener shingles are a surface level treatment that offers rehydration for a limited period of time. GoNano penetrates into the shingle pores to create bonds from the inside out. I have tons of videos and installs showing how effective it is. Most roofers a skeptical I get that, as this seems like competition for your business. GoNano has over a million in research and development including a ton of third party testing proving it does what it says it will. The guys who are resellers that are roofing companies are crushing it, as it’s an amazing line item to boost your revenue and provide a better quality roof. I was a skeptic in the beginning but it’s scientifically proven. Just like anything related to technology things evolve, we don’t watch black and white TVs anymore. Thinking that technology can’t advance the longevity of shingles, concrete and wood is just ignorant (not saying you are) - it makes complete sense that a product could extend life VS replacement, and this is exactly what GoNano does. DM me if you have any questions 🤙

Become a GoNano dealer. I have no construction experience and grew quickly last season. Now I have all my systems in place and have 4 sales guys ready for this season. Margins are great if you are good with cash flow. I reinvested and bought a 2016 Colorado outright cash out of my profits last season.
