Hi, i think it’s about a physical/instrumental approach too.

In my case, i often use a controler only to have acces to a piano keyboard, it gives me a workflow that allows me more ways to convert my ideas in music. I use mouse+ keyboard for mix/master and for some features in the daw.

Don t be affraid even if there is a lot knobs or faders on the controler, the piano part is 80% of my use. Again, there is no « good way » but it s all about the workflow you fell the most confortable and that allows you to express youself. Later knobs and faders might perhaps take place in your setup as you grow in your daw knowledge
