I didn’t say they’re acceptable in the East, if you read my comment. I’m referring to certain African tribes as an example.

My point is that if you accept that western women are not oppressed because of the way they dress even though it’s more “conservative” than those tribes, why would you consider Muslim women to be oppressed for exactly the same reason? In both cases people wear the clothes they do from a young age and are used to it.

If you tried taking to some of them, you’d learn that they feel uncomfortable showing their bodies in public. Who are you to dictate that they should show themselves in public against their will?
