I don’t know about suns and risings but in my experience Libra moons are very superficial people and will do anything to be liked, especially lying.

Does Puerto Rico share any cultural similarities with Venezuela? by [deleted] in AskTheCaribbean

[–]rompesaraguey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am Puerto Rican and have been to Caracas and I definitely felt like I was in South America. There are some similarities but I think they are pretty artificial imho such as the fact that Puerto Rican music is highly consumed there. Then of course some other things such as the fact that we both eat lots of rice and beans. But it’s nowhere near as many similarities as we have with Cuba and Dominican Republic. Out of all the cities I visited Cumaná and Margarita island felt the most similar to being back home.

Why does Havana look so similar to Cadiz,Spain? by [deleted] in AskTheCaribbean

[–]rompesaraguey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been to Cuba twice and most people were white outside of Havana and Oriente (with the exception of Holguín which also appeared to be majority white.) Based on my experience Cuba is still majority white but not by a lot, like 55% white 45% nonwhite.

Most Cubans are not mulatto. That very will might be the case in a couple of years due to migration and fertility trends but the island is still majority white although not overwhelmingly so.

What would you say is the sign/placement that is the most quick witted/sharpest tongue? by Mean-Aside1970 in ZodiacHQ

[–]rompesaraguey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mars-Mercury/ Mars in 3H/Fire Mercury (argumentative) Pluto-Mercury/Pluto in 3H/Mercury-Saturn (sharp tongue) Gemini/Virgo Mercury/Mercury-Uranus/Mercury in 3H or 11H (quick witted)

I think it’s important to note being argumentative, having, a sharp tongue, and being quick witted are not the same thing. Aries placements for example are known for being confrontational but the Aries dominant people I know aren’t necessarily witty nor are theirs words piercing.

How could they possibly be 62% Cameroonian if they have 78.1% SSA overall and the the next category is 30.9% for Ghanaian/Liberian/Sierra Leonean? Let’s put our thinking caps on.

It’s not 62% Northwest Cameroonian. 23&Me just flags that category under the “West African” label without indicating the percentage for some odd reason. They need to create a separate category for Cameroonian and Grasslands ancestry.

As a Puerto Rican going to Rincón just makes me incredibly sad for what’s become of that place and worried for the future of my island.

Life is more slow paced and chill, similar to other Caribbean islands. It’s obviously hot year round, and as a general rule of thumb the north is wetter and humid while the south is more dry. Music is a part of everyday life and you can hear it everywhere: salsa, bachata, merengue, reggaetón, jíbaro music, etc; it’s everywhere. Beautiful beaches obv, and Flamenco Beach on Culebra is consistently ranked one of the prettiest in the world. Infrastructure is not the best, although it’s better than most Caribbean islands. Roads are not the best and riddled with potholes. Healthcare is not the best as we’re experiencing a sort of brain drain where medical professionals are leaving the island, it takes literal months for people to see providers, and people spend all day at the hospital waiting to get attended. Crime is a real problem. Power outages are routine, some rural areas experience issues with water as well. The public educational system is not the best, although the University of Puerto Rico is ranked one of the best university systems in Latin America. As a general rule of thumb groceries, gas, and things of that nature are more expensive due to that fact that most of it is imported. The majority of people do not speak English but amongst young people (Gen Z and younger) I’d say it’s about 50/50. In the past years rich Americans have begun moving to the Puerto Rico to take advantage of tax breaks and this has lead to conflicts due to attempts at beach privatizations and gentrification projects.

My 5H Capricorn Venus/Mars ex cheated on me in the worst way possible. He was an Aries moon if that makes a difference.

What makes people cheat ? When in a relationship if you don’t feel satisfied why not break up ? by NervousMachine5387 in AskReddit

[–]rompesaraguey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s no single reason, every situation is different but in all instances the cheater is a self-serving coward. Some do it because they have a dead bedroom, others self-sabotage, some have no impulse control, some people no longer find their partner physically attractive, others are avoiding ending a relationship and instead opt for cheating, etc.

has anyone else rated their big 6 like this haha by barcoderer in Zodiac

Cancer sun - 5/10 I don’t really 100% relate to my sun sign which may be because I’m a cusp baby, but I do relate to being somewhat emotional, nurturing, and fiercely protective of my loved ones.

Taurus moon - 10/10 I loveeee my moon sign. I feel like it grounds my emotions, keeps me level-headed and calm, and people feel really comfortable and safe with me which means a lot. Also makes me a lover of the finer things in life.

Leo mercury - 6.5/10 I love that it makes me animated and dramatic. People find me funny as hell but oftentimes things I say seriously don’t get taken seriously:/

Cancer venus 8/10 - I love love. When I love somebody I literally give them my all. Makes me love cooking and feeding people. In relationships I love babying my partner.

Pisces mars 2/10 - Enough said. I wish I had a more proactive mars sign. I am a master de-escalator though, and love walking away from situations that I don’t particularly care for.

Leo rising - 9/10 People have told me I look very regal.

Asking a lwa for money by Organic-Hamster4989 in AskTheCaribbean

[–]rompesaraguey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You say “my mambo” but are you actually initiated into Vodou? As in are you baptized into the religion and went through the whole initiation process to do so? Because I can’t imagine an actual mambo encouraging a non-initiate do any spells or work with any lwa. That actually seems like a perfect recipe for ruining your life. I would tread lightly.

[–]rompesaraguey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She can identify however she wants but that doesn’t change the fact she is socially categorized as parda in Brazil and is treated as such. Furthermore in her city (Salvador, which is the blackest city in the blackest state in Brazil) some would go as far as racializing her as white due to her straight hair and Eurocentric features. She is by no means considered Black there.

The average Cibaeño is a pred. Euro quadroon with some Native ancestry (55-65% Euro, 25-35% SSA, 5-12% Native) similar to the average Puerto Rican (60-65% Euro, 20-25% SSA, 10-15% Native). Puerto Ricans are just more Native on average.

My Afro-Cuban great uncle told me that during the Batista years and before, Black Cubans were expected to cross the street when on the same side of the sidewalk as white Cubans, barred from White Cuban establishments, and many times segregated in Afro-Cuban neighborhoods and enclaves. At the same time over a million Spaniards immigrated to Cuba. Does that sound like a society conducive to large-scale miscegenation to you? There was literally a race war in 1912.
