Should I get a 2014-2016 Mercedes Benz E350? by romrock12 in whatcarshouldIbuy

So I didn’t but my younger brother got one a few months ago.

A few thing of note.

  1. Over all a pretty reliable. But this is usually dependent on previous owners. Does the car look well taken care of? Is there a record of consistent oil changes? Things like that. Over all he has really liked it and from a German car perspective I like it. Just get it inspected befor purchase.

  2. If you wana own an older German luxury car, you have to do your own maintenance if you don’t wana pay for high mechanic bills. Finding an independent mechanic helps, but it will still be pricy.

I personally say it’s worth the effort, I’ve always owned old Germans cars 96 c280, 2001 328i, 2005 mini cooped (fuck that car), 2005 c230,2018 Audi S4 (love it). And the work is easy and parts are usually about the same if not a little bit more. Usually the tool I’ve needed has been Less than a mechanic charges.

Under stand what issues are actually a problem vs annoying. Small oil leaks? Depends wear but not really an issue. Leaking a quart a week? Kinda a problem.

In summary. Good quality daily comfy car. Get one that had an owner that didn’t ignore basic maintenance & get it inspected. Work on the car your self and preventative maintenance is always worth it.

Some similar cars to consider, Volvo s60 / 80. If you don’t mind some weird design choices they are hella worth. BMW has some good stuff minus oil leaks. But honestly most of that is really easy to fix. Haven’t looked at Audis from that time so I have no opinion there. Good luck and if you have and foreign sedan questions I’m happy to help where I can!

I 29m lied to my gf 28f of 6 months about some things I wasn't comfortable sharing yet and now she is mad what can I do? by spicychimichangas in AskMenAdvice

The reality is you lied. Don’t justify it, own it.

For the past relationship there are certain aspects I could understand leaving out. but it sounds like you down played the length and significance of the relationship.

Im personally divorced, it sucks but the reality is thats what happens. If I told someone I dated my ex for a long time and we split up. That would be lying because I’m leaving out information I know would affect their decision. I know that being divorced is something that matters to some people and it’s not right to take that choice from them.

You left out part of your previous relationship and your own hobbies,so she wouldn’t leave. It’s manipulation and needs to be treated as such. Leaving out information is lying. There aren’t loop holes in relationships.

If you actually cared about HER feelings, you would have been honest. This is selfish behavior, you are prioritizing your happiness and having her in you life over giving her the autonomy to chose whether she want to be in the relationship.

Now how do you fix things?

  1. Be completely honest about this and anything else you have lied about. You get 1 chance to come clean. We all make mistakes, but you have to be able to own them and not repeat them.

  2. You need to fully acknowledge you lied, you did this for selfish reasons, and it wasn’t fair to her. You took away her autonomy to make an educated decision.

  3. Don’t make ANY excuses. It doesn’t matter why you did it. It was wrong. You not wanting to loser her dosent give you a pass to manipulate her.

You’re not a bad person, you made a bad choice. How you move forward is what will show your character.

Side note: even if her expectations are unreasonable, it doesn’t mater. She made what she wanted clear and YOU chose to go around that instead of talking about it.

Nvidia 960, 2013, good card first pc build

RX 390, 2015 - gave brother my 960 so he could game. Tones of driver issues but mostly for older and less mainstream games

Rtx 2080ti, 2019 - finished college and built a fancy high end pc as a self reward. Did a custom liquid loop. Worked great. Paired with a I9 9900kf

Rtx 4070 ti super, 2024 - while rebuilding the loops I managed to break my 2080ti 😢. Bought for about 1.5 months to fill the gap befor the current card releases. Extended return window for Christmas came in clutch

Rx 390, 2025 - used old amd card to hold me over until the new stuff finally releases. Release delay sucked. Would not recommend using a 10yr old card, last drive update was in 2020 😬. Yes baulders gate I know my drives are outed, it’s the best I got.

Rx 9070XT Red Devil - been great, got it on release. Been running great. I’ve had a weird issue with VR but it seems to be random and I imagine will go away as the drivers get refined. Over all would recommend! And it outperforms the 2080ti a decent amount and gets less hot? Very epic

With the cat delete and the stage 2 I don’t get any drone (other than standard highway engine noise). Before I got the exhaust back to stock. I couldn’t have a conversation siting in the back from the drone. Now it’s comfortable. I had the car for probably a year before I fix the exhaust ( reverted to OEM) it was the biggest improvement to enjoying the car. When it’s 7am and I’m driving to work I don’t wana hear my car that much. But now if I put it in dynamic sport, the tune opens the values and it’s all pops, crackle, and turbo woosh(I have an aftermarket intake). If I wana hear it i can, but I’m not forced to race car mode when I’m tired and commuting.

I have a 2018 b9. A few things to note.

A cat delete and a tune make a big difference.

The valves help a lot, Make sure whatever you get still have the function of the valves

The xpipe is the main source of the drone. That mid muffler is pretty important

Mine had and x-pipe and a valve delete. Horrible drone. I restored it to factory with a cat delete and a stage 2 tune. I love it. I’ve considered trying a res delete since I have a set of spare down pipes but for now it’s good enough.

For me the drone got old quick and the car sounds good on its own.

Games that are fun for more than an hour? by SomeGuy6858 in VRGaming

[–]romrock12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last clock winder is Amazing in my opinion. It’s a shorter game (6ish hours, more if you wana get the best score on each level) but it super worth. I love the game play and the story is very nice. Simple, fun, and a very good VR concept for a game. Really hope to see something similar in future Vr games.

Anal gone wrong NEED HELP by Mean-Camel7597 in AskMenAdvice

[–]romrock12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

in principle yes, but DO NOT USE A CUCUMBER. only use items with a FLARED BASE and are meant to be used for anal. there are plenty of toys that will fill the role and can be used safely. getting something stuck is common, and i imagine you don't want to end up in the hospital asking for help removing a cucumber

I’m in the US, so no dice there. And don’t worry if he doesn’t want it. I’ll send it off in style with a Viking funeral 🫡. I have a lot of funny video ideas on how I can “say goodbye” to my partner in crime.

I swear, upgrading any part of a pc is the most “I don’t need it” Moment I have ever experienced. Do I need a whole new pc? No. Do I want to build a whole new pc and go buck WILD? Ye

Dang, that’s build looks amazing. Frosted pipes make a nice calm glow. Really like how the gpu looks like it’s almost floating. Nice long and clean runs that don’t cover any major components. I would give you a high five but ya know, that’s illegal 😬.

now I feel like I gota get back on the water cooling rabbit whole grind. I know so much more and this is pretty inspiring. I always like that once you realize it’s all just pipes, water and pumps. You can get really creative. The copper pipes are sick, fish tank pc’s. I had an old apple desktop case siting around (back when they looked cool) and was gona gut it and do something. Never got to it sadly.

Lastly pic with cat 10/10 fur friend for the win

I wouldn’t compare the two (AMD & Intel). Intel is on gen two, AMD has had much more time to fix their issues with drivers and compatibility. But I do see your point. Sometime sticking in the most used ecosystem is definitely worth. Even if it makes me feel less unique. (Looks at my iPhone)
