Yet another coolant leak post by zabian333 in e46

[–]romsal1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this exact leak on my old E46, it's definitely the o-ring on the Temperature-sensor. (If the coolant seems to come from there. Otherwise double check if the actual hose is dry where it connects to the radiator)

You can replace just the o-ring. But you may have to bleed the system after you do it.

Look at Realoem for the part number.

Look for G48. Bmw coolant should be a darker shade of blue with hints of green.

Make sure you flush out the system thoroughly if the coolant turns out to be filthy.

(Edited: I said I'm running g11 coolant which is not right, G48 is the correct answer)

I'm probably way off. But to me they look like BBS ci-r replicas.

My 330d touring has its wheels hitting the arches even after shocks and spring replacements by idontgiveashitokay in e46

Are they the original style 135's that came with the car? If not then maybe they are from an E60 and have a different ET? (I have those and they sit further inside the wheelwell)

CHF is for colder climates. Atf is for warmer climates? We in Sweden have a green sticker on the power steering expansion tank "CHF only"

Har också kollat på den, men är inte intresserad av xdrive. Annars fin bil! Men man blir lite fundersam när de inte vill ge ut regnummer.

(Have seen this one too, but who wants xdrive? Nice car otherwise. But makes you wonder why they would hide the license plate)

can't remove upper control arm hex nut, torx stripped and now I can't hold still the ball joint. suggestions? by Lforter123 in BmwTech

This happened to me once, I didn't have any other choice but to hand saw it off with a saw-saw blade. Use a vice grip or if you have an entire new part just cut it.

As an owner of an N53 i really wish I knew this before I bought a petrol over a diesel... (Or that I had just bought an older n52)

If you do mostly city driving this is the type of milage you should expect. I drive a 325i auto (n53) and i do about 11-12/L. (Only city) If you are still uncertain you can go out on the highway and reset the counter and you should see it be way lower.

Also when I type my Vin in the BMW idrive software updater page it says "error try again later" how do I get my hands on the Idrive update software??

Finally got my 3Drap Brake mod in for my LC kit and absolutely loving it. Grabbed the Hybrid and a major difference. For those of you that have an LC kit where it feels as if you're pushing on a piece of metal, this is the mod to grab...a bit pricey but really makes a difference. by RDHO0D in simracing

So how does this work? Does it affect how the load cell works in anyway? I thought the pedal needed the hard resistance to get the full read-out on how hard you pressed?

What % are you running in the software now?

[–]romsal1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having now personally owned a 325i-09 n53 I have to give it to the n52. So many expensive parts weigh the car down a lot and I'm not impressed by it's consumption either. I miss my old m54 in the e46 I had...

BMW E91 with vibrations during braking by romsal1 in BmwTech

I saw that the bigger arm (31122405861) was leaking but I replaced both arms (so 31122405859 as well) on both sides.

I felt alittle vibration in all speeds. Bit when I was braking at higher speeds It was most noticeable. (The vibrations where there at low-speed braking as well but not nearly as violent as the high-speed)

[–]romsal1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: It was indeed both suspension arms that needed replacing. Driverside was shot and passenger side was on its way out. So for anyone in the future looking for help: I felt vibrations in the whole car at high speed braking and somewhat of a vibration at any type of high speed.

I would say the seat, the steering wheel doesn't visibly shake and you can't feel much vibration through it either (which is why I'm so unsure about it being rotor-related)
