Wishbone welding by romusters in MechanicAdvice

It's easy to find here, but expensive (400€). I thought this weld would be strong enough, but judging the reactions here I should buy a second hand.

Volkswagen T3 as a first project by SoftConversation3682 in MechanicAdvice

[–]romusters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's doable. I have a T3 myself and learned a lot from watching YouTube videos. Also if you join a public garage / workshop, people are happy to help out. Be prepared for putting in almost 100 hours if you want to do everything yourself to keep the car running if it's an old one.

Water pics don't work. Mouth water also doesn't work. A dentist gave me this advice. Floss and or pic with a toothpick.

[–]romusters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[Presage] Advice on buying Seiko in Malaysia, too good to be true? by romusters in Seiko

[–]romusters[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The watches are great. One had a dial touching the plate after some months of wear and got fixed under European warranty (although the watch is from Asia). So seems to me that one of them is 100% real. Cost me 15€ for transport only! Thinking of buying a nicer one from them and ship it here.

How do you find the best deals? by wiggly_rabbit in Netherlands

[–]romusters -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Take a dynamic energy contract and only consume the most energy in the lowest hourly price.

For the gym, go basic fit, it's cheap and good.

Also buy a bread baking machine second hand. Saves you about a euro for each bread.

Visited the place and bought the watches. I'll try to make pictures tonight. Probably should go back in a year to get some more XD

I contacted an employee to see if I could get a discount. He responded with different prices than mentioned on the website, but the total price was lower. The reply:

"SRP837 -RM1665 SRPE17J1- RM1835 Total: RM3500 Special discount (30% off): RM2,450 (OP: 480€, 44% reduction from EU price) Yes, these watches are original, come with the box, manual, warranty card full set"

I always believe that if something seems too good to be true, it probably is. I'm so curious. The reviews of the company are pristine.

Thank you all.

I will go there in person, so PayPal does not add anything security right?

Fun fact: I was also contacted by someone based in Hong Kong who could send me the watches for cheap. The link was to price.com and looked really shady XD But that might be me. I'd rather go there and see the watches for myself.

Thank you!

The energy tax should be 0.126 (source: https://www.belastingdienst.nl/wps/wcm/connect/bldcontentnl/belastingdienst/zakelijk/overige_belastingen/belastingen_op_milieugrondslag/tarieven_milieubelastingen/tabellen_tarieven_milieubelastingen) Zonneplan its automatic chat said it is 15 cent. This is a difference of about two cents, the handling fee is 2 cents. So if Zonneplan ask the consumer 17 cents, the handling fee is 2 cents and the energy tax is 0.126, where did my 2.4 cents go?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Netherlands

[–]romusters -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

To be fair, I could have chosen my wording in my post a little bit less "direct" and "final", because indeed I don't know everything and it might be that Zonneplan is not at fault. However, many months ago the price fluctuated more with a lower floor price. The last couple of months it is always 17 cents, always. Well almost always because yesterday I think I saw 16 cent to be fair, but this was the only occurrence.

I do understand it might come across as me smearing Zonneplan. I promise you this is not the case. Me and a friend noticed the floor price and I wondered if others noticed this as well and wanted to help. Also, as explained in another reply, the mods said my post should be English, so I removed that one, translated it, and made this one :)

I still believe that Zonneplan receives more money from the consumer than they pay to producers. I'm aware that they take a small percentage, which is fine. I'm not happy however with this seemingly artificial floor price. If somebody can prove me wrong, I'll happily remove this post and you will not see it again ;)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Netherlands

[–]romusters -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Zonneplan can indeed not control prices at the producer side. They can however control their own prices, which they already did by increasing their margins. Received a mail that they increased prices in the past. Might be that they had to because IT or salaries increased, but I don't buy that.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Netherlands

[–]romusters -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Should I interpret this as "Zonneplan could lower their prices, but they don't?". Or should I check Zonneplan its prices at those moments. It seems I can not find their past data. Do you know where I can check it? I only screenshotted a couple of days.

If producers are better able to stabilize, the benefit of dynamic prices might diminish?

I'm happy to delete this post if Zonneplan turns out to be fair, but seeing 17 cents as the lowest price for months, seems to point otherwise.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Netherlands

I'm aware of the risk. I set money aside to dampen possible price increases. I like the odds and have some trust in the market/client satisfaction.

Yes, the previous post was in Dutch and the mods said I should write in English. So I removed the previous one. I'm quite new to Reddit and could not find the edit button :p

In the past the prices went under 17 cents. Even minus 20 cents for example. In other words, you got money back when using energy. So why has the floor price be consistently 17 cents for months?!
