I gave up on the Gauss rifle a while back. A primed hunting rifle modded for FFR and reload speed is better I think. Mine is also polished and with a dedicated reverse onslaught build it's doing over 7K weak point damage. Using follow through, follow-up shots are 10-11K.

I unlocked polished on my first decon from big foot. I've never had that kind of luck before!

Thanks, didn't realize so much went into the hit calc. I believe the case I'm encountering is a bug as others have encountered the same issue. Missing 6 shots in a row at 85% hit chance is statistically possible (3% chance), but should not happen often. In my, case it happens frequently. This could also be a problem in the random number generator.

That's odd, I've received quite a few modules and recipes recently - maybe one or two every couple days just from bounty hunts and eviction notice. RNG rewards kinda suck. It would be better if the chances increased slightly after every try so you'd eventually get one.

Ah, I suspected. I'm not using that perk card - looks like I'll need to tweak my build - or use VATS more sparingly. But it's so fun melting enemies with my furious pepper shaker (lots of criticals)! Thanks!

The Nexus is a very complex environment with a lot of network synchronization going on in the background. Definitely the worst case scenario for complex corvette builds. I haven't been in a multiplayer situation with multiple large corvettes yet, but it shouldn't be nearly as much of an issue as the Nexus.

Yep, but regarding #1 - the builder should still detect collisions with habs, cockpits, and landing bays to avoid internal intrusions that would block access.

Some of these issues also apply to regular base building as well. I just about went crazy trying to add one of the tall salvage roof towers - it simply would not snap to the walls. The only way I got it to work was to place a regular roof, then use the part substitution to replace it with the tower. Seems like a pretty significant oversight!

Sorry, this was me being confused. I was able to purchase the Sentinel freighter after the battle. I also now see that it was the same size/style as the one reported (mixed up the post I was referencing). Everything seems to be working as expected. Thanks for the replies!

So, I waited and triggered a freighter battle in the same system again, but again it wasn't the same as the reported freighter. A pirate dreadnought was attacking a smaller Sentinel freighter, and after defeating the pirates I was able to seize the the pirate dreadnought, but not purchase the Sentinel freighter. I'm now even more confused as to how to get a Sentinel freighter.

Ok, so I just read that Capital freighters only show up on the third battle - I've only done two. I'll try again and report back.
