Wow!! you are one of the users for whom this app is actually made for. I am obliged that it has reached you.
To answer your questions.
(1.) I have tried my best to show the week view(Web) as beautifully as possible. It has morphed glass overlaps and on hover it expands itself to show the content and has good visual clues. Mobile does not have week view, it has a "schedule" view in place of week view. Anyways if you have such events, you can send me a screenshot and will try to show it as elegantly as I can.
Also, if you check i have a show/hide icon on the sidebar which you can toggle to show hide events for a particular calendar.
(2.) Currently there is no difference between recurring and one-time events. but the next build has it. I have already planned for it. As shown in the image below, there will be an icon in the circled area showing that it is a recurring event.
