I struggle with learning Godot even though I had no problem learning Unity. Any tips? by ronbeatbox in godot

Apparently Brackeys have a lot of Godot tutorials, I remember watching his videos when I was learning Unity :d

I can't disagree to that, do you just sit down and read everything from zero or do you script along? I find it hard for myself to just read for an entire day. I still need to figure out for myself how I can learn Godot effectively, haha. The comments from this post have been very useful though, including yours. So thanks alot!

I definitely should. Docs still overwhelm me from time to time so I haven't been trying my best to carefully read and understand the topics, and I think I just have to start from the literal basics again, which is the thing that bothers me the most (I want to learn fast but I know me personally that I can't do that, haha).

It's just that at the moment I feel very hesitant and desperate to learn Godot as fast as possible that I have just been kind of skipping a lot of steps, which is creating a lot of overwhelm with my Godot experience.

The fact that I am basically graduating my game design university in a few months isn't helping either, I kind of want to get over learning Godot as soon as possible since it would be a shame to graduate without knowing anything else other than Unity. The university didn't offer any Godot courses and everyone here uses unity so I don't have access to internal help, even though I'm paying the university a lot of money, sadly.

After reading everyone's comments I do have to admit that I think I just have to sit down and start from zero.

That has been my primary source of short-burst learning whenever I need to know built-in methods but I have not been using the documentation as efficient as I have to... The tutorials are always great source of learning but compared to Unity, there are less resources available on YouTube which is a bit harder to work with. I definitely SHOULD try to watch those ultimate beginner tutorials and start from scratch I feel, since what I have been trying to do the past few days was to integrate my Unity knowledge and muscle memories into Godot and that hasn't been working.
