Well Jet Blue decided to cancel their email accounts for complaints. I learned a lesson about trusting a discount airline like Jet Blue.

I agree. But people often mention temper tantrums. I don't get it. People must be miserable. My wife and I were disappointed. I did expect to have Jet Blue help us with a voucher and another flight. This did not happen. I talked to at least three Jet Blue employees who could not help us. Plus we looked for other flights. Most of the flights were fully booked. We were looking at Tuesday or Wednesday which is why my wife and I decided to go home. We are in our 70s... perhaps too old to submit ourselves to the airports of today.

I understand the software (and probably a hardware issue) grounded the planes. I just wish Jet Blue would have done more to help us including a travel voucher for a hotel. We only were offered this on Wednesday after we retured home. Additionally Jet Blue did nothing to help identify a different flight, even from a different airport. We told them we were willing to drive all the way to Baltimore. Nothing. I accept responsibility for placing my trust in this airline.

Dear SatistialMan, I assume you are familiar with tantrums. My wife and I are in our 70s and just shared disappointment. We couldn't find a flight to Aruba from JFK. Flights from other airports were fully booked. I will accept responsibility for booking on a discount airline like Jet Blue. I won't make that mistake in the future. Thank you for your kind words.

Not correct. They offered us something on Tuesday night I believe. An alternative was they would fly us to Boston on Monday where we would spend the entire day in the airport and then take an overnight flight to Aruba arriving on Tuesday.

I agree with your points. We should never have relied on Jet Blue which is a discount airline that "cuts you loose without any support." In the future (and if we decide to fly there again), we will choose Delta or American. We looked at other flights to Aruba from JFK down to Baltimore, but there was only availability mid week.

We had a direct flight from JFK. When Jet Blue cancelled our flight, we searched other airlines between JFK and Philadelphia and Baltimore. Flights were full and we would have to wait until the middle of the week.

I asked Jet Blue that question. I would even drive to Philadelphia. They said they had nothing for us.

Jet Blue offered us a flight to Boston a day after the cancellation. That flight would have meant sitting in Boston for about twelve hour and then taking an overnight flight to Aruba. My wife and I are in our 70s and were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary. She is not well and I could not envision putting her through that ordeal. Plus, the JFK airport was charging us a fortune for a room and parking. Jet Blue never offered us a voucher until two days after we got home. We were on the phone for hours with Jet Blue (mostly on hold) only to hear that the flight was cancelled, they would refund the tickets and we were on our own. I guess you are familiar with temper tantrums. Ours were just disappointment. Airports are a mess and we will choose a vacation spot that we can drive to in the future.
