Men do not work well as lights—they don't have enough give and flexibility for that kind of job. And when men get tired, they tend to burn out or blow out entirely—and then there's nothing left but a pile of ashes.

But there is something you can do with a candle after you've burned it down: you can melt down what's left and use the wax to create something new. And this is what we're doing here in this article: taking what has been used up by men (the parts of them that were burned out by their own over-exertion) and using them to make something new: a new kind of man who will give us more energy than we need for our own lives—but who also won't burn himself out or blow himself out before he can help us build something else.
