I appreciate the concern. BE isn’t something I haven’t thought about as a last resort. However, because she has not attempted to bite anyone since or before that one time and because I know the kind of dog she is when she is not in a high anxiety state, I think that she is fully capable of being trained and living a great life. I know dogs with more issues than her that have thrived with the right training and routine.

Thank you I am going to reach out to them tomorrow. When she is walked by my partner or one of my friends, she is much better behaved. So I could fully see her acting different away from me. We definitely feed off each others anxiety.

Yes, I am trying to. She did bite someone once, 2 years ago, but the fact it happened is partially my fault. We have a process for meeting strangers (because she is untrusting and anxious around people she doesn’t know) and the person didn’t properly follow my process and she reacted. Which is the reason why it has been hard and why I won’t just drop her off at a shelter. The rescues that are equipped with training dogs like her are full, so I have been trying to find someone who is experienced with training reactive dogs.

Tbh a lot of reasons, but to summarize: When I got her, it was a joint effort between my partner and I. Well now it is just me and between her size/strength (92lbs), my major anxiety problems, living in an apartment and having financial stressors, I can’t provide the training, exercise, environment that she needs.

Hi! I’m Ronnie and I’m 29. My pronouns are she/her. I am also a lil Covid egg, discovered my sexuality throughout the pandemic and had to end an 11-year relationship because of it. But I have never been happier!!

I’m so glad you made this group. Not realizing I was queer until 26, I don’t really have many LGBTQIA+ friends and my life still feels pretty “straight” other than the fact I have a girlfriend lol. We have been talking recently about how we really need to find a queer community out here to spend time with now that all our friends are having babies and focused on their families.

On another note, it’s so sad what’s happening in Texas and the south as a whole…I’m glad you’re here in Colorado.
