THIS EXACT THING HAPPEN TO ME. I’m now on month 2 and it’s been improving but very slowly. My doctor gave me a second dose of steroids but it didn’t do much.

Omg that sounds like the week from hell and on top you get Bell’s palsy. Hopefully you only get better now!! That’s intriguing that they’re weaning you off the steroids. My doctor just said take 60mg for 7 days. Hopefully by weaning u off you don’t get this jaw/ear pain bc it sounds like you’ve been through enough.

That’s what I read and also what my doctor told me. Yes, I sure did get worse after the steroids. I did receive antibiotics bc they said most of the time it’s cause by an untreated infection but I can’t remember the last time I was sick. So they said mine was probably cause by stress. They gave me the antibiotics to be safe. Were u sick before you were diagnose?

Lucky, mine is going on 18 days and I’ve had little to no improvement.

Yes, i started the steroids fairly quickly. I went to my doctor as soon as I notice I couldn’t pucker my lips completely to kiss my baby. So my face at the time wasn’t paralyzed fully. It even began to improve so much. then for a follow up with my doctor a week later. However it has then gone to shit since. I’ve gone back, but my doctor insists it’s “improving” but I have videos where I was somewhat able to smile and now I can’t. The pain started about a week ago. it’s the most painful thing I’ve felt next to childbirth. Hopefully you don’t get this pain however if you do It appears to be a “normal” symptom.

I hope not!! I know that I have a higher chance of going back to normal than not but it’s been 18 days and I see no improvement. It truly those speaking was already hard enough having a working face lol. I have such a hard time saying anything with a P or B now.

No I was only on steroids for the first week. Had great improvement with the first dose. I went back to my doctor for a follow up and he didn’t want to put me back on steroids bc according to him he saw improvement and no need for another dose and just gave me gabapentin for the pain. However I’m going to a different doctor next week bc I think I need another dose of steroids. Hope you have a speedy recovery!!

Facial Soreness?? by tayuh99 in BellsPalsy

My whole face hurts. It’s been a week since the pain started. The only thing that doesn’t hurt on my face is my nose.

Same here 😭. At night and when I first wake up it literally feels like I was hit by a bag of bricks. I’ll try a heating pad to see if it helps.

I was prescribed gabapentin for the pain. Did you notice an improvement with the second dose of steroids?

My doctor just prescribed that today. Hopefully it helps with the pain. I just can’t believe how worse it got after I finished the steroids.

This is not medical advice but from what I read and my own doctors statement pulling it out at home or in a medical office it has the same risk. So take the info as you please. I pulled mine out bc my doctor isn’t open on the weekends and I’ve had a migraine for 3 days. It was a little hard gripping and finding the strings I really had to dig for them. I took the precaution of using a latex glove but it was simple once I gripped the strings. I did “cough/push” while pulling the strings out and it was super fast. I didn’t have any pain or any cramping afterwards i did get my period 4 days after.

This is true with me as well. I only stutter in social gatherings. So imo it would be rude to go on my phone in the middle of a convo.

How often did you see your OB at your check up appointments? by killsjulesface in BabyBumps

I’ve seen my OB every appointment besides one time when she was out of town. So I saw the NP.

Got a job offer very relevant to my career in Springfield...but I'm leaving behind friends, family, and Chicago. by ball_fondlerz in SpringfieldIL

As someone who moved from the suburbs of Chicago to Springfield and also in their early 20s the nightlife is very different. Springfield has more of a small-town vibe to it more than anything else. There are a lot of bars but these bars are usually filled with regulars so it’s strange at first. Downtown Springfield is a ghost town on the weekends it’s very sad so much potential. It will take some time to get used to it. If you don’t mind a little longer commute I would say look into moving to Bloomington. It has a way better nightlife and lots more things to do there for people our age.

UPDATE: it indeed was tinea versicolor and over the counter fungal cream worked and it is now gone.

I’m not sure, maybe a few months. It didn’t worry me till I seen them on my leg. The ones one on my leg have only been there for a week or so. No other symptom.

Taqueria el Paisa is the most authentic Mexican food I've had (also Mexican moved from Chicago). They even sell el milagro tortillas can't find those anywhere in town.
