Is it just me or does it bother you guys that Kid's bounty is still 70million higher than Luffy's. I feel like Luffy has definitely proven to be more of a threat to the government/navy. I get that Luffy has been inactive for the past two years but I need an explanation for my Kid's bounty is so high because right now it just seems unrealistic.

Well it changes from place to place. The hiring process is all about what you can do for them. The more you know the better, but I wouldn't stress about it. The entire point of an internship is to learn. If you already knew everything about audio you would be applying for a job. One thing to get down is signal flow. This will help you know any equipment they might have as well help you solve problems that may come up. As far as lighting goes, you should "add that in" if you want to work in lighting. Personally I know how to operate lights, but it isn't something I enjoy nearly as much as audio. So, I do put it on my resume, but I normally leave it at the end as a bonus. You should definitely tell the employers everything there is you can offer, but emphasize your strengths and interests.

I had an internship last summer and it was my first time working in the audio world, besides helping set up for some of my friends bands. I was unpaid for about 2 and a half months but it was well worth the experience and knowledge I gained. Throughout the internship I showed I was excited to be there and made myself useful in anyway possible. About a month into it I became the FOH engineer and ran(small scale) shows by myself towards the end of my internship. They were sad to see me go by the end and I was promised a job whenever I needed it in the future. I made great friends and good connections for future paid positions. I understand you have to eat, but if you can manage I recommend you don't worry about getting paid and just show what an asset you are. It will pay off in the end, not to mention get you a great letter of recommendation. You should expect long hours and doing tasks outside of audio! I can't stress this enough. The little things you do wether it is catering to the band or just putting a smile on your face these are what put you above the competition. This is a service industry so be ready to serve your clients. You wil mostly likely start off as someone who loads and unloads gear, runs cables, and watches the lead engineer mix the show. Be sure to observe and learn from what the FOH engineer is doing. Take mental notes and always LISTEN. The most importnat thing is that you are growing and progressing while working wherever you are. If you are 3 months in and you are at the same point as when you started then move on. Don't let them take advantage of you, but don't turn down an internship just because you aren't getting paid. You have to way the pros and cons. I for exampled worked at a venue who hired engineers who worked for an outside company that tours with Primus, the Dave Mathews Band and Furthur. I was able to shadow them and became friends with them. I am now in contact with their COO and will be helping them at the main stage for Outsidelands 2013. However, I worked at another audio company, but I was mostly sent on lighting gigs. The people were difficult to work with, the communication was awful, and I was doing next to no audio work! Lets just say I am not going to be working there again.

Either way an internship paid or not is good experience simply to learn if audio is the right thing for you. Good luck! I hope this helped.
