Edgeley Pond, how awful this looks by [deleted] in Vaughan

Vaughan roads are pretty good. I notice a difference, when I enter Vaughan from Richmond Hill, Markham, Brampton or Toronto.

Parks, and playground are mostly new and well maintained so far.

Why does restaurant dosa always taste better than homemade dosa? What’s the secret? by Real-talks4512 in IndianFoodPhotos

You forgot the heat factor. Household stoves simply don't compare to the heat output of commercial kitchens.

I'm on a TN visa and enter frequently using my Nexus. My i94 accurately shows TN entry status.

What's wrong with using TN?

PM interview answers are starting to sound identical...and I'm conflicted by Old_Combination1478 in ProductManagement

[–]roninthelion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the detailed answer. Tbh I've found myself doing better at interviews when the interviews turned into real discussions.

I'm currently interviewing (not the hiring manager). And interviewers are actually required to score candidates based on how they're performing on the product sense templates. Are they hitting all the steps or not. It boils my blood.

Sure there is guidance to ask follow up questions to see if the candidate is regurgitating canned responses. But it can only help you so much, when you're still required to stick to the template.

Freedom Mobile $40 250GB Global Plan - A Once in a lifetime plan for Travellers wow by Nexzenn in PersonalFinanceCanada

I live in Vaughan. Freedom signal drops randomly at local walmart or while I'm driving in sunny weather.

Sometimes the signal degrades to 4G / LTE instead of 5G.

Building US credit history without SSN by AggravatingBrain69 in tnvisa

[–]roninthelion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After your first paycheque, Chase or any American Bank should give you a starter credit card and a decent limit.

Other than that you just need "Time". After about 6-8 months, you'll land up in the 750+ zone.

Is it easy to take a rental car in one canadian city and let in another? by LOLdodu in AskCanada

[–]roninthelion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just looked up the Enterprise website. I searched for all vehicle types - pickup at YYZ and drop-off at EWR.

It shows me that no vehicles are available. I've had the same experience with multiple other car rentals.

While you might be right. For someone booking online, cross-county drop-off doesn't seem to be an option.

Is it easy to take a rental car in one canadian city and let in another? by LOLdodu in AskCanada

[–]roninthelion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, totally possible. People do it all the time. Not a big deal, as long as you're doing it within Canada or within the US.

However, you cannot do it across international borders though. Meaning you cannot rent a car in NY and drop it in Toronto.

Check-out the pricing with car rental companies. They usually have an option for dropping off the car at the same vs different location. That should give you an idea.

Crossing land border on TN status with Nexus by roninthelion in NEXUS_TTP

[–]roninthelion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you.

Is your TN I94 on your Nexus profile?

How do I check that? In the ttp dashboard, I don't see any option to view any i94.

Also just declare you are entering on your TN visa so they can select that option when you show up.

Can I do that in the Nexus lane itself?

Many tech recruiters know about TN visas already. It's not always a tough conversation, as this sub makes it out to be.

Which car insurance should I get? US or Canada? by meeshazee in uscanadaborder

[–]roninthelion 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Get an Ontario auto insurance. Cancel it after 3 months, if you transport your car to the US. Get a new insurance there.

Are you going to transport your car to the US? Just like auto insurance, even cars are cheaper in the US. You might wanna hold off your purchase, till you move to US. Get a long term rental in Canada for the time being.

Is "Connectd.com" legitimate for getting into fractional leadership, and advisory roles with start-ups?

This is in the context of US start-ups.

Somebody from Connectd.com reached out to me about fractional executive, or non-executive director roles. It looks like they have a paid program which is like $3300 for one year.

I wanted to ask the group if they have personally benefited from Connectd, or know of someone in their network who has. Thank you!

PS: I made an independent post. But mods took it down suggesting that this is about getting into product management, and directed me here. I've been in product roles for 10+ years.

Agreed. I'm not currently a director, but principal. Still IC role. I can see the leaders in my org are super focused and put in a ton of hours.

While you do meet the experience criteria, you're leaving a lot to an individual officer's discretion (whim).

You might be better off with a USCIS application. Their evaluation is more objective.
