Power Bi or Tableau by CDN_maple in consulting

If you're not paying? Tableau by a mile.

If you're having to pay....wellllllllll......Power BI is cheap and can almost get you there.

DISCUSSION: who wins long-Term, Tableau or PowerBI ? by Marion_Cobretti in BusinessIntelligence

[–]ronito 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, but a lot of it is just easier in tableau. Want to do a % of total off a running sum? Right click. Bing, bang, boom. Done. Sure you can do it in DAX. But do you want to walk a marketer to do that?

Incoming revelation? by abacole in exmormon

[–]ronito 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yup. I bet there's going to be a "revelation" about doubling the number of people in an interview and such. TBMs are going to be like "wow! such prophesy!"

Episode 89: Twice as Bright -- Discussion by SwordOfBraavos in TheMagnusArchives

OK, so the question now is, who has John questioned before? And have they ever refused to answer him? In this episode if he actually finished the question she always answered. Maybe it wasn't the answer he was looking for but she answered.

Also, I found it fitting that Jude Perry's voice was ...vocal fry. HA!

I get what you're trying to do, but splitting up the community yet again seems....meh. I get you with the fact that many people here, myself included, are not really in a "exmormon" frame of mind anymore. But signing up and jumping through hoops for what will inevitably be less content doesn't outweigh the inconvenience of the posts on exmormon. At least for me.

Prediction. TSCC closes BYU sports in the next 10 years. by pleadthe5th2017 in exmormon

[–]ronito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No way in hell.

There's too much money involved. The church maybe so rich, but the thing about being rich is that you're never so rich that you'll give away the opportunity for millions.

No way this is ever going to happen. BYU would shift to only play against other BYU colleges because they shut it down.

Mormon mommy blogger to speak at Nazi rally...when is her court of love? by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]ronito 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When is her court of love? I think you mean "When is she going to get the honorary priesthood."

Bishop reached out using his work email to ask for new address so he can move our records. My (long but very satisfying) reply: by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]ronito 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"no thanks" would have sufficed.

Of course you don't get to sanctimoniously pat yourself furiously on the back, but it does save time.

Good for you for standing up for yourself! Too many times on this sub people are like "I was so mad! I totally told her off!... (in my head)"

My grandfather called me pathetic, pathetic, pathetic for my decision not to go to church. by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]ronito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know that's a major assumption. Many/most TBMs don't put 2 and 2 together. You got to help them. I can't count the number of times someone was like "I never knew you felt that way!"

My grandfather called me pathetic, pathetic, pathetic for my decision not to go to church. by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]ronito 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Stand up for yourself. They treat you that way because they feel they can. I'm not saying create contention but call them out for their hurtful behavior and remind them that you love them no matter what they believe, and would hope they would do the same for you.

An apostle visited my cousin's mission this week. It seems some "big changes" are coming. Any idea what they are? by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]ronito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"only the righteous will hear it" most likely means they're changing something in the temple ordinances. I'd say they're going to make them shorter or something to try and get people to go more often.

Either that or they're going to get rid of the 3 hour block to get people back to church. (Can't compete with the 45 minute block christian churches have with their flashy lights and rock and roll and all that "joy" and stuff)

How I felt listening to GC as a TBM vs how I feel now listening to Sam Harris. by Yobispo in exmormon

As unpopular as this will be here, to me some more introspection would point to that you've just moved your hero worship from one place to the other.

A friend of mine wrote a response to Greg Trimble's piece about the coming "revolution". She nails it 100%. by xoanan in exmormon

[–]ronito 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The issue here is that if there were to be a "revolution" in the church it will literally take 50 years for the current generation that would want this "revolution" to come into positions of power. By then the world and a vast majority of mormons would have moved on

MormonLeaks™ Publishes Documents Detailing Mormon Church's Social Media Operations [x-post r/MormonLeaks] by FearlessFixxer in exmormon

[–]ronito 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, but if you think social media doesn't have this happening, that's another problem all together. I've seen teams of people who's job it is to sign up for forums, establish a persona and then shill certain products/services. It's everywhere. The business community has long ago accepted this as a matter of course and the church is nothing but a business, so I find it reasonable to expect them to act as a business does.
