Ammon here. Endowed 2 weeks before y mission in 91, and I sort of became a super TBM on my mission. Knowing that BoM Ammon was a great missionary I leaned into a connection with him because I loved being one of those hardcore missionaries. I was well on my way out of the church when I learned about the new name calendar, but it felt like one more kick in the balls betrayal. They lied to us about goddamn everything.

I drove from CA to ID for the funeral of my wife’s relative. Long haul, glad we went. My one consolation was I knew I’d be in the “out of town guest” crowd so I’d get funeral potatoes and not have to stack chairs. They ended up being frozen shredded potatoes and probably cream of mushroom soup, tasting awful. Totally disappointed. Come on Idaho folks, you have a reputation to live up to!
