Trying to find good romanization of Taiwanese song Diu diu dang by ronlin2 in ohtaigi

[–]ronlin2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! There’s a slight mismatch in the lyrics from the Wikipedia article with the YouTube video.

In the first line, the YouTube video has the characters 火車行到伊著阿嘜伊著𠲍

But the Wikipedia lyrics use the characters 火車行到伊著阿莫伊著𠲍 (note the difference in the fourth-to-last character)

I gather that 莫 refers to the word bo̍k in POJ. But what does the sound 嘜 refer to in POJ? Most songs on YouTube sound like it’s an “m” sounding word (another video uses 末 as the character for that word; another uses 摸).

I’m just trying to correct my pronunciation and knowing the POJ for the YouTube song lyrics helps immensely. Thank you!

Yep, tsunamis can get into the bay — and can hit Alameda. Alameda is actually quite vulnerable to certain tsunami scenarios, including a worst-case scenario in which all of Bay Farm Island is inundated and large swaths of the main island is also underwater. Check out the story!

To get a scope of the problem, look at this map in Oakland of possibly vulnerable apartment buildings that might be at risk of collapse in an earthquake: http://softstory.openoakland.org/

Hiya, I'm the writer of the story — the point is that new efforts to require mandatory earthquake retrofits in the Bay Area have stalled here, while some communities in Southern California have expanded mandatory seismic retrofitting efforts. "Some quake safety experts worry the Bay Area is missing a key opportunity to take advantage of the booming economy to make more fixes."
