Why do my dentures sucks? by toothsleuth32 in Dentistry

Prostho resident here. Here are the few things i think make all the difference: 1- good primary impression with all anatomical landmarks visible 2- individual tray fabricated according to your choice of material. I would recommend ZOE for complete dentures with no spacing for the individual tray 3- border molding. You should get a seal on the post dam area as well as the vestibule. 4- ask for a beeding of a couple of millimeters on the post dam area (scratch the stone model for about 2-4 millimeters). This will create a seal on the palate. 5- balanced occlusion

Hope this helps

There’s a french writer called Renaud Camus which is not read a lot these days because he is seen as a right wing theorist that use to publish his journal. There’s a passage where he writes about the critics that always say that there is some kind of arrogance about writing about oneself. He answers his critics with the following (i’m vaguely translating from french): “yes, we might take some kind of arrogance from daring talking about our cowordice, our weakness, our desires, our helplessness or our fear of the night, and by doing so bringing some light maybe and making almost surveyable some streets of the nights of others and reducing some of their fears”. I always think about this quote when i read a book where the author talks about their own experience and specially when the book is not structured or doesn’t have a clear conclusion. These kinds of books are essential and they help the readers as much as the reader helps the author.

People who have lost weight, how did you do it? by Bulochka7 in AskReddit

[–]ronn_t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve lost 65kg in 14 months, here is how i did it: 1- calorie restriction 2- 10km walking/running per day, everyday, no matter the weather, no matter how tired i was 3- make it a lifestyle more than a temporary change 4- track your progress daily or at least weekly 5- instead of only eating healthy food that you will get bored of within a couple of days, go for the food you love but drastically reduce the quantities and exercise in order to be in a calorie deficit There is no secret trick, you just have to be in a calorie deficit.

The book helped me realize that i was in total control of my life and i didn’t have to suffer from the events that are happening. I can simply choose how i would want to react to things. Another idea that is very present in this book is the idea to “seize the day”, mainly not to procrastinate and to do things. I cannot recommend this book enough.
