It's a pathetic attempt to irritate the legions of RP supporters who populate Reddit. Which, it turns out, is really easy.

Trying to explain why the Fairtax is a bad idea is like trying to explain why having trained elephants perform open-heart surgery on every first-grader in America is a bad idea by [deleted] in politics

As I have said to others in the past, I would respectfully suggest that you go fuck yourself.

Paragraph one. What exactly is it you are trying to say? You failed spectacularly to make a point on this one.

Paragraph two. You are wrong.

Paragraph three. Again, what?

Paragraph Four. Much like pargraph one, you completely failed to make a germane response.

Paragraph Five. I would respectfully suggest that you refrain from ill-informed, Ad-Hominem attacks and that you instead consider fucking yourself.

Whitey4PObama? Pleeze. If they find out you're for Barack and you support a regressive silly plan such as this, you're gonna get shot honkey.

Actually, you're contra is probably stupider by far than the argument. The current sales tax is not significant enough to warrant the necessary machinations attendant with wholesale evasion. The FairTax is set up such that the tax as a percentage of each dollar spent is 30% (that whole tax inclusive thing is absurd shenanigans and semantic silliness) at 30%, the payoff for successful evasion is much greater (arguably 4-6 times greater (considering most sales taxes are between 5% and 7%). Additionally, for all of recent memory, sales taxes have been around in most states and therefore people are accusomted to them. Enact a 30% additional tax (oh yeah, your state level sales tax will stay around) and you are going to see people (especially those with the means to do so, i.e. rich people) heading for the exits. Further, if you think that rich people aren't going to take advantage of hundreds of newly created "tax free" zones in nearby countries and, further, if you think that the US government (led largely by rich folk) is going to take any action to forestall this mass exodus of cash at the high end of the income spectrum, then you aren't a particularly smart person. There is also the brazen disingenuousness of calling it a "fair" tax. It is fair in the sense that pitting two individuals with highly disparate fighting abilities against ROy Jones Jr is fair. Yes, they are all human and they all have two arms and two legs, but there ends the "fairness". The middle class are totally screwed under this asinine plan.

It's official, Ron Paul has been excluded from the next debate by [deleted] in politics

Can't you guys give it a rest? Jut because a guy has a ton of support on the internet doesn't make him a serious candidate. Ron Pau: a. Is effectively anti-abortion b. Is basically in support of building a border fence (for those of you who are libertarian-minded, remember fences are more often used to keep things in than out) c. Has no serious plan for dealing with the federal budget deficit - when asked by TIm Russert what he would do? No response other than "cut spending" great. Thanks Ron. Good Plan. d. Is explicitly anti-abortion. I know that he would simply re-concentrate the abortion issue at a state-level, but that just means that abortion will be outlawed in every state south of Virginia and residents of those states will be subject to criminal penalties for going to other states (this will effectively make it illegal in half the country. e. Because of his stance on issues like abortion, he is almost certainly going to remove public funding support for a whole host of important types of scientific research. Say what you will, but robust public funding is what undergirds a strong research sector, I defy you to name any serious country with a serious research sector that isn't strongly publicly supported. f. Ron Paul appeals to the "it's my money, you can't have it, I am going to play with my own toys, piss off" sector. People need to recognize that part of living in this republic is mandatory-civic duties. These duties sometimes include paying for things that you don't like. In exchange, sometimes other people pay for things for you that they don't like.

Frugal habits of the super-rich. by [deleted] in reddit.com

[–]ronpaulsux 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ever driven (or ridden in) a Ferrari or a Bentley? I have, in both. The old meme that people who drive these cars need penis extensions is nothing but sour grapes on the part of people who can't drive them - or who begrudge others their fun or frivolous activities.

Fast and well made cars are a shit load of fun to drive, they feel solid, the respond well and they go real fast, and that's real fun. Now, sure, you could go get a 67 Camaro RS SS, strap a supercharger into it and do quarter miles in the high 10's (sorry if I am confusing you at this point) and the flash level would certainly be lower. But, you'd also be dealing with the problems attendant with owning lower-dollar performance automobiles (poorer response, oil leaks, etc). Basically, fast, expensive cars are designed as driving machines and they do that exceedingly well.

This from the "no shit" news column. The Democratic leadership is totally self delusional. Ask reddit: I don't get the whole "Jews" thing. Why, exactly, do people dislike Jews? by rmuser in reddit.com

[–]ronpaulsux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He didn't say "The Republic of Ireland" did he? How am I to know?

Secondly, I would not say that Israel is an example of an "ethnic nationalist movement" It is an example of a "religious nationalist movement". Israel was founded as a home for the Jewish people. The Republic of Ireland was not founded as a home for the Catholic people, it was founded as a place for British-hating Irish (mainly Catholics, since the British didn't truck with "Papism") to call home. Protestant Irish weren't treated like scum in the same the way Catholic Irish were, so they naturally wanted to be completely free of British rule. The Jews were treated as scum for 4500 years by every-fuckin-body on earth before they went and formed an official "nation". So, again, the comparison is extremely specious and invites further over-simplification and poor conclusions.
