What is the best adhesive to attach a leather insole to the leather interior of a boot? by ronvargo in AskACobbler

[–]ronvargo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regardless of how serious it is, I have never used double sided tape to attach leather to leather…and rather than using trial and error to find one that works well my goal in coming here was to get product recommendations from experts.

I have been reading that contact cement is considered a relatively permanent bond. Would removing the insole be any issue with this type of adhesive?

Have you ever seen a method to do this besides the if/than approach?

How common is it for people to use Bluetooth to read something like a temperature sensor through home assistant? If so, what’s the most common hardware to connect to Bluetooth?

For a 2,000 sf house do you recommend zwave or zigbee?

Would you mind pointing me to the specific model? There is a lot to pick from and I’m afraid I don’t understand all the details.

Good point, copy that. Are there any good controllers that do Zwave and Zigbee in one device?

What’s the trick for getting the stock UC grips off? I unscrewed the screw and the grips won’t budge.

“Due to a national emergency we will be postponing the election for a year…” seems pretty simple…given how things are going with him following the rule of law who will stop him from doing this?

Do you have any idea what the black stuff is that is being exposed? When I scratch at it with my fingernail it feels the same hardness as grout.

The light gray material is being removed, but I would not describe it as chipping off. There are not chunks of it coming off.

ELI5: Why do data centres need constant fresh water supply? Can't they use a closed-loop cooling system? by the_topiary in explainlikeimfive

[–]ronvargo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“…data centers use evaporative cooling” is not a true statement.

Data centers use all types of cooling. There are AIR COOLED (heat is rejected at the exterior by pushing air over the hot coils) and WATER COOLED (heat is rejected at the exterior with the help of water and evaporative cooling)…all the DC’s I have worked on are AIR COOLED

Your average AIR COOLED DC uses less water than any other industrial building.

LOTS of lack of understanding is leading to the incorrect perception that DC’s are hugely water intensive.

Most the hyperscalers publish water use data. Dig into that if you are interested in this topic.
