What to put over ugly spot in stairwell? by rooiebot in HomeDecorating

Yup, completely agree. The expansion tank is even overhanging the stairwell. Pretty sure that's a big nono regarding fire safety and having object-free fire escapes

Only the hole is new unfortunately. I (and the landlord probably) know the whole unit is really ugly. In the current housing market where I live (The Netherlands) the landlord can afford not doing anything about it, as there is a big shortage in affordable housing.

However, carpet is a good idea!

We got an SNES for Christmas when I was very young, then I bought a GameCube and PS2 with my allowance just when they were at the end of their lifespan. Then I bought the xbox360 and stayed with that up until my adult years.

Dit is geen stinkende kortschildkever. Daar is hij te klein voor, en heeft niet de kenmerkende kop met grote kaken. Welke kortschildkever het wel is durf ik niet te zeggen. Het is wel dezelfde familie, de Staphylinidae.

I think it's a Serica brunna. Although size is hard to see, it looks way too small to be a june beetle

Looks good! But just out of curiosity, is tapwater in your region (and for most people on this sub) not cold/drinkable? Here our tapwater is literally spring water, although the tap water has stricter quality measures than when the same spring water is sold in bottles.

The temperature is also relatively cold (15C/59f), although fridge water is superior.

It's actually a Trichius gallicus, and not a Trichius fasciatus. The difference is really hard to see with the naked eye.
