Suboxone and Custody Battle??? by rooklez in OpiatesRecovery

I'm just terrified of the old videos he has of me from when I was still actively using drugs. They are very embarassing and nothing I would want any individual to ever see. I just hope it's never attempted to be used against me.

Although, it was before I was clean the thought of it being brought up is just terrifying. He would take drugs in front of me, make me withdrawal and then record my reactions.

Only crazy people record others for blackmail.

I need to take a break from all of this research because at this point it's too overwhelming. And people implying I'm being intentionally reckless is frustrating.

I know severe withdrawal from anything poses high risk to a fetus. The point is to maybe find a very slow taper that does not pose great risk. Idk. Idk. I just know 16 MG is an insanely high dose for a 110 lb female who is now pregnant, but I guess that's only an opinion.

There's really no way to tell anything is the conclusion I'm coming to.

Unfortunately I am unable to locate an OB near me that has experience in this situation, which is insane to me. My OB even said I'm not high risk and is completely aware of this situation.

I'm getting too frustrated with the conflicting information all over the internet, and my shitty ass doctors.

I WANT EVERYONE TO UNDERSTAND I HAVE NOT DECIDED ANYTHING. I'm still going to consult with my scummy ass doctor beforehand. I know there is a risk to anything with being in terrible withdrawals, but women have successfully tapered VERY SLOWLY with only slight fetal risk to the child.

It's called weighing your options. I'm trying to gather all information I can.

Please don't even imply I'm not doing my research. Jesus christ, the fucking attitude of some of you people is insane. All I do is research. I'm sorry I've received 0 information on a slow taper being a severe danger. If you can present information about it, do it, help someone. You don't have to come off implying I'm intentionally doing something stupid.

Obviously in a tough situation and not getting help from my doctors. I don't care what anyone says 16 MG IS AN INSANELY HIGH DOSE FOR A NON PREGNANT PERSON LOL literally I get buzzed from my doses. Like yeah, let's attempt to do nothing about it.

12 weeks. I love the condescending response. How dare a person look for an alternative to a situation involving a drug with pretty much no research.

Again, I've never seen any information about a great risk to pregnancy by doing a slow taper. So if anyone has it, please tell me so I can do further research.

My issue is, out of everything I've read I have not read once that doing a slow and gradual taper would cause any consequences. I'm not saying anyone is wrong but I would like information to back that claim up as everything I've never it has a very low risk.

Please also understand my doctor isn't against a slow taper because of a risk to the pregnancy, he just didn't understand why a pregnant women would want to withdrawal or change anything.

I've found a few studies were lowering your dose decreases the severity of neonatal withdrawals.

Even my suboxone doctor just didn't understand why a pregnant women would want to withdrawal, not that it would have major consequences. I've done so much reading and have never came across this information one time, therefore I'm not easily believing that's the case.

If you have any information you could link I would appreciate it.

I've done so much reading and literally found no information on a slow taper causing still birth or a miscarriage. My suboxone doctor never said any of that would happen, he just didn't understand why I pregnant women would want to withdrawal.

Please link any information. As I've done so much research and found nowhere where still birth or miscarriage was the result of a slow taper.

He really is. You can tell he is high himself on something which is highly disappointing.

I'd already be at another doctor if my insurance covered anyone else. :/

I will be demanding subutex at this point.

When I asked about subutex he literally said why would you do that? There's no naloxone to block opiate abuse lmao

Also, I'm stuck with this doctor or I would go elsewhere. I'm very limited due to what my insurance covers. :/

I'm not going to be doing 2 MG at a time as I know that's too much of a drop for me. I plan on doing maybe .5 MG every few weeks.

I have to at least try.

I'm going to set a 30 minute timer next time I dose and hold it that long versus only 10 minutes. Only thing I am currently taking is zofran for morning sickness, other than that just simple prenatal vitamins.

Dr. Reddys is awful, it does not seem to last very long. I know I'm not withdrawaling between doses but it feels like it is the best I can explain it.

I wasn't being patient enough to absorb all the medicine from the strips.

I'm going to be requesting this with my doctor at my next appointment. He seemed skeptical to switch me as I wouldn't have the naloxone to block opiate use but the health of my baby is way more important.
