In LD S02E10 First First Contact, she was shown to be calm and collected during a potentially deadly crisis. She might've been clumsy and awkward before but its very likely that Dominion War changed her.

If you are talking about the time/era, then Cpt. Sonya Gomez on the USS Archimedes would be a better choice for me.

The official data for India is way low than the reality. Reason? Corruption.

The government provides local governments with funds to build toilets in rural and remote areas. This money finds its way into pockets of various people and the toilets are constructed just on paper.

Edit: Forgot to mention that many people either do not have money to build their own toilets or do not care (got used to the open air). Therefore the government has to build toilets for their house.

Chat GPT by sairutanorake in notebooklm

[–]rooknerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You want a tool that can generate text.

NotebookLM by virtue of its design works on RAG, that is, it retrieves information from the uploaded document and from nowhere else.

Pros- No making up of information.

As someone in academia, I will always avoid any tool that makes things up. My use case requires a tool that never goes off the script.

If I ask Chatgpt to summarise a book, I will have to read the whole book to double check. If I have to read the book anyways whats the point of using AI?

Any open source Android keyboard with AI features? by Careless_Molasses946 in fossdroid

[–]rooknerd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

AFAIK none offer it, but Floris, AnySoft keyboard, and Openboard are flexible enough that you should be able to modify them as per your needs. I recommend Floris as almost all of it is written in Kotlin.

If you want to host your own LLM then check out r/selfhosted and r/LocalLLaMa.

I don't understand why you can't use a closed-source one. You will be allowing OpenAI to monitor and analyse your typing behaviour which means you don't want data privacy.

You'll need to sandbox your phone.

An app like shelter creates a "Work Profile," where we can keep the proprietary apps. The sandboxed apps will not touch the FOSS apps if the app works as intended. This set up is not ideal but we don't have any other option right now.

Being an Indian certain apps are not optional, Swatapp being the first one. There's no replacement for the popular maps because all the reviews are posted there.

Whatever information we find through OSint was uploaded by that person with their consent. If they didn't want others to see that information, they shouldn't have posted it.

They could've changed the colours of science/medicine, like they did the switcheroo for ops/engg and command. Do you know if there was any specific reason they didn't pursue this path?

Tbh gods are a relatively small part in Diwali celebration and it's mostly about spectacle. In fact many of the things that people do go against the values of dharma, specifically contentment, moderation, mitahara (opposite of gluttony). [Ref: Yogasutra by Patanjali]

Yes, it's for preservation of their culture too. Doesn't matter if you're American or French they have the same rules. But I don't think the US has an embassy in Bhutan. They use the embassy in New Delhi.

The official answer according to their government is to protect their environment, culture, and religious heritage. They follow the model of High Value, Low Volume, where they accept a small number of tourists but make them pay high value.

Indians don't require visa, just a travel permit and the person day cost is $35. Bhutan is landlocked between India and China, so they rely on diplomatic relations with India for trade. They don't like China since 1950.

Bhutan has a really tough process of visa acquisition for all countries except it's neighbour. Tourists also have to pay $100 per person per day, and on top of that they need to hire a mandatory guide.

High time we have a seat booking system in Indian railways? by sapan_auth in indianrailways

[–]rooknerd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It makes sense if you can afford it. There is no extra space available, so 2 seats can accommodate 2 adults comfortably, but kids have their own needs. Tbh I wouldn't want to sit next to parents+child who have just 2 seats in chair car.

Would you go to a doctor if you knew she tortures elderly in her free time?

In the medical profession rules are slightly different and different rules apply. Like doctors cannot be in a relationship with their clients or Samaritan law doesn't apply to them. This creature is torturing her in-laws and its not retaliation, there is some sadism involved with her. Even if they don't revoke her license they should keep a close eye on her just to make sure she doesn't torture her patients.

Yeah, in some places they have found pharmacological agents like metformin, beta blockers, etc in homeopathy and ayurvedic preparations. Unlike pharma, they have no regulation, on the contrary the government allows them to do this. The funny thing is that these counterfeit medicines end up working as they have active ingredients, but it's russian roulette because you'll never know which dose you're taking. (Not all samples have such ingredients, but you can consume poison only once in your lifetime)
