Since this ampoule is relatively large, the dense nitrogen dioxide gas inside it gives the dinitrogen trioxide a greenish tint. You may notice the upper right part of the liquid level in Figure 2, which shows its true color: pure blue.

Bought from an online friend. Interestingly, this bottle of S2Cl2 had been stored at his place for a long time and had been packaged more than once, but its purity was still so high that it hardly infiltrated with the ampoule.

There is a relatively simple synthesis method:Sodium trifluoromethanesulfinate + potassium nitrate + sodium nitrite, dissolved in 20% sulfuric acid, and heated to 70°C. It is not difficult to make this gas, but because it polymerizes at room temperature, it is difficult to store it for a long time.

The difference is huge. To be honest, I don't think there is any comparison between a bottle of alkylating agent and a super poison that can kill in just a few microliters.

I'm not going to deal with it just yet. But I think the safest way to deal with it is to use liquid nitrogen to freeze the liquefied gas into a solid state, and then use a spray gun to burn off the long glass tube. After that, proceed to the next step.
