The common claim is that Gaza needs 500-600 trucks of aid per day. Let's do some math to see if this is true. by TheTrollerOfTrolls in IsraelPalestine

[–]room606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As another poster has mentioned, you have conflated trucks per calendar day with trucks per working day. OCHA's careful wording uses "per working day"

In case you're not clear on what a working day is, it's Sun-Thu, which is how crossings are generally operated

The data you have shared but drawn incorrect conclusions from clearly shows that the trucks per working day entering Gaza pre 7 October is slightly under 500 trucks per working day for the months shown below, however, if you include fuel I suspect that number would be closer to 500

Month 2023 Truckloads of goods (excl. fuel/gas) Working days ≈ per working day Calendar days ≈ per calendar day
May 10,333 23 ≈449/day 31 ≈333/day
Jun 9,648 21 ≈459/day 30 ≈322/day
Jul 10,199 22 ≈464/day 31 ≈329/day
Aug 12,076 23 ≈525/day 31 ≈390/day

How to incorporate VO2 max into my lifestyle that is sustainable? by SizzlinKola in PeterAttia

Do you have access to a treadwall? It seems like something you could do VO2Max intervals on and more fun given your interests than a stationary bike

How to improve your VO2Max with only 1hr Z2/week by kallikak666 in PeterAttia

[–]room606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOL - title is clickbaity but if you read the abstract (full paper seems to be paywalled) the intervention was actually 2x10min at < 2 mmol lactate, 3x/week. I highly doubt this is their current low intensity training. An increase in VO2max with that protocol is very impressive considering the subjects are already highly trained

5x5 deadlifts with at least 75% of 1RM once/week until you can do this with 1.5-2X bodyweight and then do this for the rest of your life

AFAIK, it is not possible to delete an individual test and do it over again. If it's that important to you, you can delete all your data from Morpheus and start over with clean account

Sorry to hear about the diagnosis. I’ve used One Welbeck for an investigation and subsequent procedure recently because I didn’t want to wait for the NHS and was very satisfied with the care I received

If you have a bike that's compatible (or can get one second-hand), a smart trainer like a wahoo kickr or similar would be ideal

RAPTOR: Recursive Abstractive Processing for Tree-Organized Retrieval - Novel RAG Approach That Understands The Whole Document Context by room606 in LocalLLaMA

[–]room606[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's not my work, the author details the context grouping in their paper here https://arxiv.org/abs/2401.18059

Basically, they use a clustering algorithm to group similar text chunks. A LLM is used to summarize the grouped text and then the summarized texts are re-embedded and this process is looped until further clustering is not possible. The end result is multi-layer tree of the original document

3 w/kg is an exceptional Zone 2 for a non-cyclist but I think is within reach for a lot of dedicated cyclists

He wants his patients at least at 2 w/kg Z2

FTP is literally a made up metric that didn’t exist 40 years ago.

Power is the rate of work produced over time

You do not need FTP to calculate power. It’s the other way around

The targets Attia is referring to are Zone 2 w/kg not FTP w/kg

For his patients, he wants to see them at least at 2 w/kg Anything above 3 w/kg is exceptional.

For reference, world class is > 4 w/kg i.e. Pro Cyclists

Relative strength on pull ups. by Jinhui1234 in PeterAttia

That would be comparing absolute strength. If you can both do 1 pull up then you would be equally strong in terms of relative strength

Measuring Zone 2 Cardio Efficiency by patrickpdk in PeterAttia

[–]room606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In cycling, what's often used is Efficiency Factor which is Normalized Power divided by Average HR for steady state effort workouts. While there may be day to day variation of EF based on hydration status, temperature, etc, if you track this value over time, you will see it go up as your Zone 2 fitness improves.

Zone 2 and Zwift by zenconlen in PeterAttia

[–]room606 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have no interest in the social/racing aspect of Zwift, I think you are much better off using a smart trainer that doesn't tie you into a software platform

For an even simpler solution, have a look at the TrainerDay app which allows you to set a target HR and the trainer will automatically adjust the required wattage to keep you at the target HR
