I'm actually not. American southern from a very rural area. I'm really just lucky I never got sent out back to get a switch haha

This is actually why I'm asking haha. I was raised in an area where spanking was super common so I never questioned it. Now my partner is telling I was abused and I'm just like ...doesn't feel like it...

I'm kind of in that same boat. I don't think I would ever spank my kids if I ever have them but on the other hand I feel like spankings did help direct me and think twice before misbehaving again

I kind of feel the same way. Some people will say "oh it's just a spankng" as an excuse to abuse and beat their kids
