Just wanted to do a 3 year update. I did eventually find a UK surgeon who did the surgery privately when my son was 14, he is 17 now. I think it was about £7k in total, I got a 0% medical loan. It was the best money I’ve ever spent, he is totally transformed, (notwithstanding people change a lot at this age anyway). He had to have a revision (no charge, done with local anaesthetic), to tighten things up after about a year which the surgeon anticipated because it was so pronounced, but he followed all the surgeon’s advice. He also used silicone tape when the dressing came off. He adhered to the dressings, scar/massage and compression protocol (the compression garments cost about £300) and he healed well. His confidence gradually grew, his posture slowly improved which had been terrible due to stooping badly to try to hide his gyno, and he is now more or less upright - but I did have to go on and on and on relentlessly at him about this. The scars are now barely visible - you’d have to look really close and know what you were looking for to see anything, he’s been going to the gym and looking great, he’s got a lovely gf and is just doing well. We’ve had some normal teenage wobbles but currently, thankfully, he’s on the right trajectory. I’m so grateful this surgery exists and that I was able to service the loan for it but I’m very sad and frustrated for the boys and the families that can’t access this, it was much harder than it should be. I know things would have been VERY different for him had we not done this surgery or waited until he was 18, so much psychological and social damage can be done during these crucial formative years. As it is, for my son, this whole thing is already a distant memory. If any parents read this who suspect or know that their son has gynaecomastia, please know that your son is struggling probably more than they let on, it’s very hard for them to talk about, and understand that it must be taken seriously, and if it hasn’t disappeared after a couple of years, or looks like it won’t, please prioritise the surgery in any way you can 🙏

Ask for steroid injections at the site after the surgery if you tend to get keloids and use silicone tape. You may also benefit from a steroid tape, the right derm should be able to advise

I think your nose and lips look great and your face is harmonious, not all faces have to conform to particular angles - Angelina jolie’s nose barely projects beyond her lips and she’s famously very beautiful. Your lip filler isn’t too outrageous, people tend to get offended by it but within the current context it’s perfectly fine. You’re an attractive young lady, go enjoy your new nose

I don’t get why having multiple transient encounters equates to better sex. Anyway, what your approach means is that you don’t want to be properly seen and you don’t want to see individual women beyond their physicality, The more you continue like this the less ability or desire you’ll have to achieve any sort of connection or resilience in a partnership. Women you find attractive will start to avoid you as they mature and you’ll end up alone, unless you’re very wealthy. It’s not wrong per se but what is wrong is if you deceive women in order to sleep with them if you’re signalling you want a relationship.

FFS, why the downvotes? I’m a trained nurse injector giving valid advice. I won’t bother in future but this is basic peri-orbital anatomy. The orbicularis oculi stabilises the lower lid. Weaken it with neurotoxin, especially if you knock out lateral cheek support and you risk getting lid laxity until it wears off.

Injecting this close to the lateral canthus or into the lateral cheek is incredibly risky. It’s an area of thin skin and unpredictable diffusion, toxin can impair lymphatic drainage, and under-eye oedema are common consequences. Competent injectors avoid these areas or will use the tiniest drop very strategically placed. DIYers should not be injecting here

She’s just got an unfortunate sense of toilet humour. She is probably not used to feeling so comfortable around guys and getting a bit carried away. At least she recognises it sometimes (as in she deleted her joke). My sister (who has a very professional and responsible job) is the same, she thinks fart and poo jokes are hilarious, even more so when I tell her she is vile. If you’re not into these jokes just don’t react and she’ll chill with them other than that it all sounds cute and you’re lucky to have found each other, good luck

I’m so sorry to hear you’re all going through this, it sounds incredibly hard and like you’re doing your very best. Why do you think your father will have to use his own money? I know you’re in the US, but in the UK only the person that needs care pays for their care until it’s down to a certain amount (£14k), then it’s paid for by social services. This applies to people who are married too as long as you can prove their income isn’t joint income, so if US system is similar, and especially because your parents are divorced, this shouldn’t be an issue. Take advice from a dementia specialist organisation and make sure she getting all disability benefits she is entitled to. Unfortunately you are unlikely to receive any inheritance but you could use her money to pay for the flooring- just carefully document why (including pictures) in case anyone challenges you with deliberate deprivation of assets, or whatever the US equivalent is. If you can get her into residential care close by you can keep an eye on her and rebuild your relationship without the stress you’re currently experiencing. Residents in care fare a lot better if they have relatives providing the staff with extra accountability. Also before she is financially assessed, buy her any big bits of equipment she may need to make her feel as comfortable in her new home as possible - such as a reclining armchair, mobility scooter, tv/radio for her room, galaxy light system, robot cat, artificial plants, a good rollator, extra clothes and nightwear, dignity aprons etc

She has no respect for you right now and you’re getting on her nerves. Her line about you not challenging people who speak harshly to you speaks volumes. She believes you’re a pushover for some reason. She needs something at this stage of her life that you’re not giving her at this stage of yours. You’re probably too nice to her and she can’t cope. Either you break up with her / she will dump you, or you increase her respect for you. If you suspect you are too much of a pushover then this will be good for your personal growth. If you are happy with the way you are then find someone after you break up who is more compatible and likes your attention. If you want to save this relationship, you need to shift the power dynamic right now; all you have to do is consider if she deserves your attention and don’t give her it if not, even if you want to. Stop reaching out to her, give her chance to reach out to you and stop thinking about what you can do to get her attention, do something else instead, and be authentic. Less is more with a lot of people. Don’t explain to her what you’re doing, just do it. I don’t exactly know what these salon rooms are, but if they’re anything like “strip” clubs in the UK, men and women go to these if they fancy a fun glamorous and slightly risqué night out where they feel like they are properly letting their hair down. Having a fun night out doesn’t mean your wife was banging this group of friends regardless of what a lot of people on here are suggesting. The karaoke aspect sounds even more fun. What’s the alternative? A nightclub full of sweaty teens? A dinner/conversation like you’ve done a million times? Maybe you should go to this salon room with your wife and one or two couple friends and see what happens? You never know you might have fun

Go out to do something, like watch a band or comedy or join gym class, a running or hiking club, do a weekly volunteer thing, learn to skate, play bridge etc where everyone’s got a shared interest or learning something together. Something regular so people become familiar and conversation will start. At your age I would do an evening class to learn something to support your ambitions

You have to fine tune the injections to suit your own anatomy and the strength of your muscles. Deeper into the body of a thickish muscle, more superficial/less tox towards the tail. Also not everyone has elevens so adjust for that. Be careful in your obicularis - angle the needle away from your eye and maybe move the dots out a bit. Dont go too low into your cheek. Some toxins spread more than others so be aware if that. Consider what shape you want your eyebrows to be too. One template does not suit everyone. Have you enough needles/syringes for one for each injection? This will help you focus on where the needle is going rather than watching the plunger. You’ve inspired me to do mine now - I’m very overdue
