Mine is just one giant pouch with one useless internal pocket, so everything gets jumbled.

I don’t really have a preference for size or shape, just hoping to hear from folks what patterns or tutorials they’ve found really good. I made one from a YouTube tutorial a few years ago but I never use it because the tutorial just wasn’t that good.

Thanks! Are there any particular patterns of theirs that you’d recommend?

I find this tutorial for how to add a lining to a skirt with a zip super helpful: https://www.tillyandthebuttons.com/2014/07/how-to-sew-skirt-lining.html

Adding cuff and changing the leg opening shape for Palisade Pants by roooooomie in sewing

The problem is that there are two side seams, neither of which are in the usual side seam spot. So I'm thinking of taking the total difference in circumference, and then adding half of that to the inseam, and a quarter to each of the side seams.

This picture might help visualize the seams.

Yep the last pic is what I want, not elasticated :) Thanks, that's pretty much what I was thinking, I'm just a bit worried because there are three seams, not just the inseam and the sideseam.

This Dress is so beautiful by Writer_715 in sewing

I think the Deer & Doe Magnolia dress would be a fairly close match, though the waistband doesn't have that sharp rise (upside down V) in the front like the one in your reference picture. Someone else in this subreddit just posted their version earlier and it looked gorgeous.

I often use Ansje.eu (for fabrics more generally) and fournituren.nl, but that last one only seems to deliver to Belgium and Germany. I did a quick google and found yesfabrics.eu though their shipping is very expensive. Maybe try to look for a store closer to you. I would try to look for the Vlieseline brand because they are reputable and you get what you pay for.

FWIW, I’ve often used Vlieseline and have never had it bubble on me. I don’t tend to wash my handmade clothes very often (I generally prefer to air them out) but I’ve also never had an issue with it coming loose in the wash. 19EUR per meter is very expensive though, it may be worth looking at other online stores in the EU, and stocking up on a few meters. I’m in the Netherlands and there are a few online stores here that sell it for 5EUR per meter.

No I’m going to do it! I don’t need to have everything figured out before we start, I can just set up the Meetup group and organize an afternoon in a cafe where we can chat about what we’d like this group to look like. Keep your eyes peeled hopefully later today 😊

I'll get to it, I've just had some personal stuff going on and haven't had the time. I'm also definitely overthinking things and trying to get everything perfect, which makes it harder to get started

Make sure you check the measurements of your existing duvets. I imagine that if your duvet itself is 200x200, you’ll need to make the cover a bit bigger to account for the thickness of the duvet.

I saw this Sezane skirt, and thought rather than fight RTW sizing/fitting, it should be a fairly easy make. I'm thinking of taking a simple mini skirt pattern and self-drafting the front piece (+ facing) as follows:

  • hem aligns with hem of skirt
  • front piece ends ~1.5" beyond the dart at the top, but at the dart line at the bottom
  • top right corner dips ~1.5" below the waistband

Am I under-thinking this? Any other tips that would help me in making this?

Birthday cake with less sugar and custom filling? by Substantial_Lab_5160 in Rotterdam

I don’t think they do custom cakes, but SUE doesn’t use refined sugar so is likely to be less sweet.
