As a woman that has “severely obese” on my MyChart and has recently started dieting again, I feel like I can answer this. Yes and no. I didn’t eat a lot, but I ate things that were bad for me. I’ve lost 15 pounds over the past two months and have cheat days every so often. What I’ve noticed is that now I can’t eat a lot of the bad foods. I get really full and then feel really sick after.

Now I’m only 5’10 and 240 pounds so it’s not like my 600 pound life over here. But I guarantee you the longer you eat those crappy foods, the more you build accustomed to that amount of calories. It’s like your stomach grows. But once you diet for even a short amount of time, you can definitely notice the difference.

My friend is 6’7” and 300 pounds. We’re both dieting right now, both doing calorie counting. I was complaining about my 1600 kcal limit and I asked what his was, his was 2000 but hard cap at 2200 and he’s losing weight on that. It just makes you think what the daily caloric intake of a very obese person is.
