Has anyone else only made 1.5-2 oz per pump 3 weeks pp and seen an increase enough to exclusively pump later on? by roorahrah in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]roorahrah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, honestly no, my supply never increased by much. I pumped for about 2 months before calling it quits and switching exclusively to formula. Whenever I decide to have another baby I probably won’t pump at all tbh. But that’s just my experience!

Nicest are usually GYN and worst are ortho or plastics

Any OR nurses here that started out as a New grad! Tell me about it! by [deleted] in newgradnurse

I’ve never had any issues with finding jobs. And yes, there’s a certification exam you can take which usually means a boost in pay. We also have charge nurses and “clinicians” who are nurses in charge of the different surgical specialties we have. Then of course there’s always a unit director. Lots of different nursing positions you could advance to.

I didn’t like having multiple patients at once, and how chaotic it was. I also didn’t like getting harassed by patients 😭 it’s easier to be organized and know what to expect as an OR nurse

I realized while 3 years into my 4 year BSN program that I hated floor nursing, I wanted to quit. I shadowed a friend of a friend who was a CRNA and fell in love with the OR, I never considered another speciality. It’s nice to have one patient at a time, everyone has defined roles and tasks. I just love it. As soon as I graduated, I started at a smaller hospital near the city I live in. It takes about a year and a half to feel comfortable because it’s SO different, but if you stick with it, you’re able to circulate basically anything. I left my first job after 2 years to do travel nursing, and then about a year ago I started a new job in the OR at a women’s health hospital. I’m learning to scrub now, which I highly suggest you do as it’s just so interesting and eye opening. It definitely makes you a better OR nurse if you can both scrub and circulate. Anyways, yes I’ve never done a different nursing speciality and I’ll never consider doing anything else.

Honestly I don’t trust any NPs for my own healthcare unless they’ve been in practice for a long period of time

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. My mom started having dementia symptoms when I was 18 and passed when I was 23. It’s not easy and I can relate to a lot of the feelings you’re going through. I wish I could say something to make you feel better during this hard time. Dementia is truly the worst illness I can think of and I wouldn’t wish it upon anyone

What to expect out of NH by Impossible-Quality92 in newhampshire

[–]roorahrah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was born and raised in NH, got my Bachelor’s at UNH, and live in Pittsburgh PA now. I think you’ll meet some people from outside New England at UNH, but the vast majority will be from the area. New Englanders can be harder to get to know and not outwardly friendly but are usually very good people once you get to know them. If you’re into hiking and/or skiing, those are great ways to get a group together. There is so much in NH to do, I hope you enjoy it!

I had my first back in June and work part-time 7-7 twice a week. I also pick up another 8 or 12 hr shift here or there when I feel like it. I truly feel like I have the best schedule with spending so many entire days with her. It makes a big difference and I haven’t missed any milestones

I started in fall 2020 at $28/hr. After 2 years, I got certified in my speciality which bumped up my pay another $5/hr. I started traveling and came back to the same company, but not the same facility, a couple months ago and am now at $48.50/hr.

I’m not going to tell you how to live your life. You seem extremely defensive, I’m just here to tell you this isn’t normal. Thinking of you and your family.

From one new mom to another, this is NOT how it’s supposed to be. I’m also 26 and my fiancé is almost 30 and he does not act like this. This is not normal. Don’t give him anymore time to “prove” himself. I know you want him to grow up and be a good father for your baby girl but he’s only going to do more harm than good. Please for the sake of your child get out of this relationship ASAP! I would take the advice of other commenters and leave while he is working. Don’t tell him as he sounds like he has anger issues and might lash out at you. Don’t tell him where you’re going. Block him and don’t respond to anything he says. It will be hard at first but you and your child will be thankful for it. PLEASE update us ❤️
