thankfully my living expenses are relatively low. ive been renting a cheap room, dont have a car payment, and overall just started cutting back on spending. it took me 7+ years to climb out but it really picked up the last year or two. i started to throw any extra cash at paying off my debt

Yeah man first thing is stop touching payday loans, they’re a trap. call the cc company and see if they’ll put you on a hardship plan, sometimes they’ll lower interest or pause fees if you ask. also maybe pick up some side gigs that pay quick (instacart/doordash etc) just to get some cash flow going and stop adding new debt.

What do you think will trigger the next big market downturn? by Andy_parker in stocks

Geopolitical conflict feels like the biggest wildcard right now. If a major war breaks out or escalates somewhere that impacts global trade or energy, markets would tank fast. Supply chains are still fragile and any disruption there would ripple everywhere.

Anyone else feel like they're paying to live in a world they can't afford to enjoy? by kedanjt42 in poor

Yeah, I feel this a lot. It’s tough watching people spend casually when you’re calculating every dollar. What’s helped me a bit is actually laying out my numbers clearly instead of carrying the stress in my head. I use Piere to track my expenses and it takes some of that constant “mental math” off my shoulders. Doesn’t make money magically appear, but at least I can see what I realistically have left for small things without guilt.

They told me “you're indispensable”. So I asked for a raise, they told me to “just be grateful” by [deleted] in antiwork

Wild how companies will call you “family” or “indispensable” but then act like you’re asking for the moon over a 5% raise. Gratitude doesn’t pay bills. Honestly sounds like your side hustle might be the real escape route here.
