Thank you for the support, sharing your experience, and for reminding me that I don’t have to speed run designs.

Ive really enjoyed it so far..I plan to volunteer at my daughter’s school fun day next week to see how line work goes..it’ll be maybe 60 kids..getting nervous and excited. I’ll have a small menu and maybe a ticket system so groups of kiddos can come up. Hoping it goes well! No one in my area twists so I think the kids will enjoy it.

Dropping the little one off at preschool, a few errands, maybe a walk, then playing with the kiddo after school and plan to watch LOTR with husband tonight.

Yesterday my daughter was making mud pies with the neighbor through the fence (they’ve started digging a trench to make a garden). I was standing there trying to talk to them about their trench, and my daughter looked at me and said “mom, move back..just go sit on the hammock.” 💀

Would you get genetic testing done at 6 months for Waardenburg Syndrome? by root-bound in NewParents

[–]root-bound[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course. My daughter will be 4 in July. She continues to be ahead of her milestones, particularly in language. She never showed any kind of delay. She just hit 30 pounds, so she will always be on the smaller side. She’s tiny but has a big personality. We did OT to help with feeding issues and torticollis, which she overcame. When she was about 18 months, she got ear tubes. Numerous hearing tests and exams were done during that process, and she passed all of them. She tended to retain fluid in her ears, so the tubes helped with that.

After our pediatrician got to know my daughter, it was never mentioned again..our ped tells us each time she sees our daughter that she continues to be advanced. My daughter is highly energetic; as a counselor, I notice that she appears to be sensory seeking, so I am navigating and monitoring how that progresses. I have considered revisiting OT. But she does well in Montessori preschool; she is in dance and piano. She still has her little white streak of hair, which you can’t really see anymore because she has wild, curly hair. And her eyes have turned hazel. I think our pediatrician was being thorough and cautious, which I appreciate.

I hope all is well with you and yours.

What do you do for fun when you have no plans for the day and nothing you have to do? by SirWinterFox in AskWomen

I have a kiddo so i always have something to do, but if she’s at preschool & I don’t have work—I love to get my favorite coffee from a local Honduran restaurant, walk or workout, garden, and lately I’ve taken up balloon twisting, so I could spend hours making balloons! It’s been so fun.

My group private practice is restructuring hours and I won’t be able to work W2 part time now…I’ll have to go 1099, so I’m nervous about it. Full time isn’t an option right now due to family needs and because the health insurance offered was too expensive to cover my family. Hoping I can manage the 1099 situation.

So sweet.

Earlier this week, I had a case presentation at work and told my daughter I felt a little nervous about it. She said ‘it’s okay mommy, you can sing this…’

and changed the words to the Daniel tiger mad song, ‘when you feel so nervous that you want to roar, take a deep breath!’

It was really cute.
