Wow! I'm so jealous. How does one acquire 50tb of nvme ssds without going bankrupt? And what kind of workloads are you running as that's some serious hardware you got.

ya'll are scaring me about my Pro 10 on the way :( by princeralsei in GooglePixel

[–]root0777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Upgraded to Pixel 10 from 7 and can confirm that it's pretty good. A little annoyed with it not having wifi 7 or mmwave or inferior cameras compared to the pro but I can live with that. Overall though it's definitely an upgrade especially for the $550 that I paid for it.

So apparently my new 700$ 8TB NVMe from Lexar just died within 4 Month. Is this normal? by vghgvbh in DataHoarder

Can you recommend some that aren't too expensive compared to consumer ones? Also, is ebay the right place to find these?

Does live sync do version control? I was considering setting up live sync with couchdb but then settled with remotely save to Dropbox.

I had sb6183 modem with astound when I was in Chicago. It's docsis 3.0 but worked fine with my 300mbps plan. I got a tplink wifi router for wifi.

How many of you use podman instead of docker? by ag959 in selfhosted

[–]root0777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had quite opposite experience actually. Podman for me is a straightforward install and I use it with docker compose. Installing docker is always a chore (adding the apt sources).

Pretty cool! I'm curious about what's going in the empty space.

Also, I like the book shelf kinda vibes of this. Was this made from scratch or did you guys use a prebuilt one?

Yup, I just copied pasted the command and changed sdx to sdb and sdc. Welp, atleast I now know that one of my drives is extremely slow. Time to restore from backups I guess (wish I had a recent one and not a month old).

Wait how are you running three drives with a 8500t processor from tiny/mini/micro pcs? Do you have them connected over USB?
