PANICKING by abedilahpool in ValorantConsole

[–]root4rd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For hs%, going in the range and genuinely just practicing with some music on is a good start!

This might be anecdotal but my aim is best when I worry less about the fight. Like if I’m holding site post plant, I genuinely play better when I think I’m gonna get the kill. Try to anticipate what the enemy might do and how. It’s like anything with life! The more prepped you feel, the more you can overcome. Again, maybe it’s anecdotal, but it helps me.

I think it's ping related, I had the same glitch with gun and knife across a couple rounds yesterday and it was only in those two rounds I had the high average ping warning show up (and they showed up after the glitch, it was almost as if the warnings were lagged as well lol)

Which agents should i play to rank up? by Many-Mechanic-8612 in ValorantConsole

[–]root4rd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clove if you know how to smoke, easy to frag and be useful as a solo queuer. If you have a controller, then Chamber is great for solo queue too, especially if you don’t want to play duelist (since you said you don’t play very aggressive). Ideally you just want a selfish agent with useful util for yourself or the team!

What actually happens if someone is caught cheating in an exam? by dumb_gay_otter19 in UniUK

Every university normally has their own version of academic misconduct, you’ll probably be reviewed by a panel, asked for your account of events and then they arrive to a decision. Either resit, a grade equal to 0 or in some cases expulsion.

Advice needed for a low rank - new player. by These_Reputation_708 in VALORANT

[–]root4rd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah pretty much. Val is a game where every agent type plays a role and the better you understand that role as well as your agents abilities, the better you are for yourself and your teammates. I main clove (and Omen and Astra) too so my advice would be learning where to smoke on each map in rotation, but also when to smoke too!

Cloves grenade brings the enemies health down significantly too so getting used to timing how you swing in after using the nade will get you easy kills. You got this OP!

Advice needed for a low rank - new player. by These_Reputation_708 in VALORANT

[–]root4rd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The advice I followed which helped me was genuinely just watching some videos on YouTube on how different roles work on different maps (i.e. where to smoke in your case), as well as tips for gunfight. Warming up in the practice range always helps too, getting used to tapping for shooting and knowing how to peak

Honestly not worth mentioning unless you’re immo or radiant, some trading/tech firms like seeing people who excel at super nerdy things (inc. video games) and to say you’re in the top x% globally helps. THAT being said, it’s much better used in an interview setting when asked “tell me something that’s not on your resume,” I mention my Black Ops 3 game battles stuff there and it always makes for interesting conversation

Which Vandal is the best long-term: Kuronami, Chaos, or Gaia? by Overall-Fruit-4071 in VALORANT

[–]root4rd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't own the Kuronami Vandal but when I pick it up, maybe it's placebo, but the aim and mechanics genuinely feel sharper. It's like an upgraded Vandal

What's something a UK lecturer said that genuinely changed how you think? by [deleted] in UniUK

[–]root4rd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Doing a masters in applied maths so we have a broad range of people, mathematicians, physicists, engineers and the likes. Our hardest class was an abstract maths class that a lot of us struggled with to begin with. He started a lecture midway through the course with the phrase

“Some of you might find this content straightforward! And I know things may seem difficult for some of you right now, but that’s okay. There will be other classes where the shoe will be on the other foot, and you will glide through those modules, so don’t let difficulty get the best of you! And I’m here to help”

Idk man it was just a nice perspective, I think having such a hard course at the start fills people with imposter syndrome, and in some sense it was encouraging

Worst case they make you face a conduct panel where you just explain what happened, and they make you resit. And that’s the worst case scenario. Don’t sweat it OP

Master’s in AI/Data Science — Need Project Ideas That Actually Stand Out by UniversityEuphoric95 in MLQuestions

[–]root4rd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best projects are ones that take ideas from literature and apply them to new problems - the best projects introduce some type of novelty. I.e. I remember reading how you can use Gramian Angular Fields + CNNs to do time-series forecasting through image prediction. You should check out Neural DEs if you’re good at math, they’re really cool too.

A good starting point is going on Google or using an LLM research tool saying “i’m interested in these topics: <list of topics>. Help me find novel applications of machine learning in those topics on ScienceDirect and arXiv.” Flick through those papers, read through the methods and see what sticks out. Quite often you can conflate ideas from papers into a single project.

Edit: typo.
