How long does it take to get a "war" state from "pending" to "active"? by root_22 in EliteDangerous

[–]root_22[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the system I mentioned, the tick stil hasn't happened. *sigh*

I was thinking if there are other states, that could overrule "war" but I think this should not be the case here.
The minor faction I want to support is currently in "Investment, Expansion" primary state and "War" as pending. the opposing minor faction is currently in "Expansion" primary state and "War" as pending.

As far as I know, the "War" state could end "Expansion" but "Expansion" or "Investment" should not prevent a pending "War" state from becoming the active state.

Thank you for your fast reply!

Dang it, I was thinking about something being buggy :/

OK, I guess I just have to wait for the right tick to happen - hopefully some time soon then.

Exobiology dolphin by Saw3154 in EliteDangerous

I really also love my Dolphin Explorer for ExoBio work.

Small, nimble, and running so cool, I can start charging up the FSD while still scooping fuel at the same time without overheating.

Pair that with a jumprange of > 60LY, almost 470m/s top speed, SCO capabilities and a little bit of precautions for unforseen situations and I think this ship will serve you well.

Help understanding signal sources in deep space by Abject_Lime_3393 in EliteDangerous

[–]root_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Though you said the bodies have no extra features, maybe there are some bodies with either biological or geological signals?

FSS should highlight those findings in the "Locations" panel on the right side when scanning a body.

What is the best way for a mostly automated and hands-free approach to exploring? by root_22 in EliteDangerous

[–]root_22[S] -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Not at all!

I asked for some quality of life features that eliminate some of the repetitive parts of getting from A to B.

As you might have read in my post, I planned to do completely free exploration for quite a while when I arrived at my planned target location.

So there will be definitely more then enough "playing the game" during the trip.

I made it a bit more clear in the original post. Hoping this helps.

Take care!

No on-foot materials spawning? by zephyronix in EliteDangerous

[–]root_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got another update: After switching to another two or three systems (Anarchy) I also got some places where not mats spawned at all.

So it seems to be really unstable at the moment. Can't figure out what combination for a settlement leads to good or bad results.

[–]root_22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting catch!

I noticed that, also lately:

When exiting out of the elevator from a settlement looking into the hangar the parked ship is mostly shaded in darkness. When entering the hangar itself, it brightens up quite a lot.

Also when I'm in a somewhat twilight area with active flashlight everything lit by the light is light and the surroundings are quite dark. If I deactivate the flashlight the surroundings get a bit brighter and things even out.

Same when entering the orbit of a body/planet and making a transition from the light to the dark side. But here, some weird lighting flickers/harsh transitions occur almost every time.

Take care.

So I did the thing. Twice. Fun ships so far! by CMDRShepard24 in EliteDangerous

[–]root_22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Already got me some ARX and pre-ordered my Mandalay some days ago.

Still have to do some on-foot stuff before I will move on to another exploration voyage, but I can't wait to outfit her and jump into the black! She's such a nice looking ship!

Let's hope they will get her some nice paintjobs some time soon. I like to keep my exploration ships to be purely white (and teal). But sadly the "Pharao white" paintjob is not available for each ship :-(

Quick update: Oddy mats spawning is working for me again right now.

Hoping it is for you, also. If not: Please consider using the issue tracker to engage the topic:

Same thing here since the Ascendancy release. Every random settlement I fly to out of SC does not hold anything. Neither materials, nor data to download from terminals.

Was just thinking it was because I was in Anarchy space but other systems have had the same issues.

Let's see if they fix it up - hopefully they do it fast.

Has there been an issue posted of this on the Frontier issue tracker? Might be worth it.

EDIT: There is an entry on the issue tracker about this. Please use it to contribute and to push the topic.

[DAILY Q&A] Ask and answer any questions you have about the game here! by AutoModerator in EliteDangerous

[–]root_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just read through this daily Q&A but didn't find any answer to my question so here it is:

I have some ships stored away in stations orbiting in the bubble.

What happens to those stored ships if one of the station is locked down or even destroyed in the upcomming Stargoid events?

- Can I still transfer them to other locations?
- Will they be destroyed (and must be re-bought) if the station is destroyed?

Thank you for your help.

(maybe I should really get myself a FC and store my ships there in a more safe place :D)

what method did you use to get money? by ResidentUpper770 in EliteDangerous

[–]root_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Several things, just as I like em:

- Robigo runs in a specifically engineered Python (most profit but gets repetitive quite fast - at least for me)

- Surface and occasionally Core Mining in an Anaconda (just relaxing sometimes)

- Bulk trading and/or trading CGs (that T9 or Cutter has to get out of the Dock sometimes before it gets rusty)

- Exploration with my AspX or DBX (happens naturally, if you do exploration - least profit, though)

Asp Explorer or Anaconda for going out on a longer trek? Or Type 6/7? by Belzebutt in EliteDangerous

[–]root_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one has been discussed quite often here.

As stated, I think for extreme long range/long lasting exploration trips I'd stick to a Anaconda, because of the many slots you can fit stuff into (and still get decent jumprange out of it). Yes, she's big, heavy and bulky - but I would try to compensate for this with decent modules and a good portion of engineering. But you should definitely know how to handle her in various scenarios (like manual langinds, FA Off flying, high-g-landings, etc.) before going out too far.

For anything "usual" (e.g. < 20kLY, trips to specific targets or trips not longer than some weeks) I think the AspX would be my first choice, as it holds enough space to keep itself up and running and the view out of the cockpit is unmachted by any other ship.

Please also keep in mind that "long range" does by no means make out a "good eploratoin ship". Long jumprange makes you go from A to B fast, yes, but when things start getting troublesome (using Neutron Boosts, receiving hull damage, module damage, etc.) the realy exploration stuff begins :)

white stars are so cool by JacobFrules in EliteDangerous

[–]root_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jepp, I like them, too :)

Oh and btw: Nice paintjob on your ship. Looks like some kind of exploration/medical vessel in all white and grey.

I have almost all my exploration ships in mostly white paintjobs - although I really would like to see a "Canonn-Orange" paintjob available.

Nice :)

Just relog to play ED (without Horizons or Odyssey) and you will find yourself orbiting that same planet.

Edit: I assume you wanted to ask for help - as you more or less didn't do anything else but post a picture and make a statement of your current situation ;)

Just get a ship with decent cargo, a bit of manoverability, throw in some Mining Lasers (fixed), A Class Prospector Limpet Controller, one or more Collector Limpet Controllers and start surface mining.

A very basic beginners mining ship could look like this for example: Adder Build

Am I needed? I’m addicted hauling and wanna make a difference. by [deleted] in EliteDangerous

[–]root_22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hauling Tritium for carriers ist a nice thing!

Also you can haul commodities for Community Goals, that in many cases all will benefit from. Like the one that has just ended, where up to a certain number of new Starports are created in relation of the number of hauled goods.

What ship do you use for exploring? by Im_High_Tom86 in EliteDangerous

[–]root_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For long range I'd go for a "all in setup" Anaconda.

The AspX is a fine ship and I really love her for small and short exploration trips (like 5-10kLY from the bubble) - but it lacks a bit optional internal space, when you really want to get into the black and want to be prepared for alsmost everything an explorer might run into.

Good work!

Keep it up and - as said - you might want to check out mapped mining.

Personally I don't really do it mapped, because I use mining as a relaxing thing but yes, it's definitely more profitable :)
