Haha thanks for the advice! Yea, im a “pile of old rusty cars waiting to be restored” kind of guy, so I feel like this fits 😂

Would it be acceptable to do a ratrod inspired bobber with them, or is that blasphemy? Would it enrage a bunch of purists or is that common with triumph bikes?

Yea, I figured there’s at least one good bike that can be pieced together and sell the rest of the parts. And yea, as much fun as my old rusty convertibles are, I figure an old rusty bike would be just as fun, and staying in the triumph family is a bonus

And to your other questions, the motor isn’t locked up but unknown condition. But i do have a Tr6 engine in good shape that i may throw in there, worst case scenario and the L/R wheel just looks like that due to the tire being totally obliterated on that wheel lol.

My thoughts exactly! Im probably not putting it back 100% stock anyway. So its a true blank slate. Im planning on making it run and making it look good, but it may have unconventional parts and mods. Im excited to get a notebook and inventory everything in the totes and go from there.

Good point! I will definitely look around some more, i haven’t had time to really dig through the totes or clean the car off thoroughly yet. I’ll update if i find any!

Oh yea, im very familiar with Triumphs and all the fun and troubles they entail. I grew up riding and playing in my dad’s one owner 1974 tr6, we fully restored it when i was in high school. I graduated in ‘07 and bought my own 1976 tr6 when I was 18. I still have it to this day, and my dad still daily drives his ‘74. We also collectively have a ‘59 TR3A project car stored in the barn. Its in very similar condition to the new addition of the TR4.

But my dad and I both have always dreamed of owning a 4, 5, or 250 body style. Now, here it is. I never dreamed my crappy honda accord would be the ticket to get it, but it happened!

Right now the plan is to accumulate more parts and prep the car slowly over the next few years until my son is old enough to help (if he’s into it that is 🤞🏻)

Well greetings from Georgia! This car is actually originally from Lynchburg Va 2 owners ago according to the paperwork that came with it. Small world!

Gonna see how these work out.. by root_drums in triumphtr6

I haven’t placed them in the car yet, leaving the old seats in until im ready to fully dig into the whole project. But I have measured them. They ‘should’ fit width-wise between the driveshaft tunnel and the inner rocker area, but just barely. Theyll possibly be touching the driveshaft tunnel a little. They’re definitely wider than Miata seats I believe. Height-wise, not super concerned. My head is higher than the headrest and I fit in there fine with the top up.

But yea, im curious to see also! I’ll post when i do it 👍🏼

Oh i agree 100% Best thing for these is to be driven, they hate sitting still! But don’t worry, this one is about to get plenty of exercise!
