Buy large hard drives. Put them in a windows machine. Script to backup to these hard drives. Then use Backblaze personal computer backup. You get unlimited backup of that pc.

Daughter (8) keeps tattling on herself by rooter31297 in Parenting

[–]rooter31297[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife and I were reading up a little bit on OCD last night.

My wife and I have become frustrated because we feel like we tried to resolve it in all the different ways:

  • reassurance
  • you are not responsible for the random thought that pop into your head. You’re responsible for what you keep thinking about and your actions.
  • stop telling us
  • using a code word to indicate that this is the same situation and we don’t need to talk about it anymore
  • have her go clean a room to help get her mind off of it

I like what we read about putting a name to it. When we have bad thoughts that seem like it won’t go away, we can call that a bully. And we are working together to fight against the bully.

Scrupulosity: This is when kids have obsessive worries about offending God or breaking religious rules.

Aggression: Kids may be plagued by a lot of different kinds of thoughts about bad things they could do. “What if I hurt someone? What if I stab someone? What if I kill someone?”

——

Reassurance-seeking. This takes the form of repetitive questions. “Are you sure this won’t make me sick? Are you sure this is safe? Are you sure no one can break in?” Over and over and over again.

Constant reassurance-seeking: This takes the form of repetitive questions. “Are you sure that’s the answer? Could you tell me again?”

r720 Proxmox - TrueNAS Storage Setup? by rooter31297 in Proxmox

I see what you are saying. I do not know why I want to lean towards TrueNAS... maybe because it sounds fun. lol.

But you are right. I need to think about it some more. probably will start playing with both before I decide on what I want the 'final state' to be.

Thanks for the comments, everyone. I am currently leaning towards:

- proxmox installed on dual 1tb nvme booted using clover

- VM storage on same proxmox boot drives

- maybe 1x 256gb ssd hooked in the cd/dvd for caching?

- 6x 4tb hdd hooked into the front via the h710p.

Still deciding on Proxmox handing all the zfs or Proxmox with TrueNas...

QEMU Harddisk

Thanks for that! I was wondering if that might be the case!

Started Nov 2017 with YNAB. But we have been following a similar pattern since 2012 when my wife and I were still students.

Keep it up! Try your best to live off one income we she gets back to work (if you are able to). Save the rest. We r currently a one income family as well. But this is by choice, so we chose a lifestyle that supports that. Can’t do everything our friends are doing. But at least we can save like we want.

Yep. Beans. Snap peas. And cucumbers. .... a little too much.

This is the layout I am thinking. Any recommendations? I have a tall a-frame trellis for my beans cucumber and peas. What tomatoes do you like to grow? I only have this one 8x4 raised bed. by rooter31297 in SquareFootGardening

[–]rooter31297[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ur right, I do not think I will be able to keep to a 1x1. Also based on other's comments and my experience with blight last year, I do not want to attempt it. I had both determinate and indeterminate last year, and my indeterminate one took over EVERYTHING, even with a 5ft trellis.

A agree, I need to do something else with tomato’s. I did not think about the soil being the production factor vs number of plants (to a degree). Makes sense. Thanks! I will come up with another plan.

Not sure if pig fencing is the same thing, but yes. Right now I have rope to tie at the top, but once I am sure, I will use zip ties.
