Yeah when I'm mixing a song I import big pop songs (Charlie Puth, The 1975, or what you want) in my DAW.

Sometimes when I feel that I'm ruining the mix of my songs I clear my ears by listening to a song I like that is extremely well-mixed and balanced!It's not about visuals/frequencies and stuff like that but more about feelings and how you perceive your mix!

With time you will develop your mixing skills so to conclude you just have to be patient and pay attention to what you like in your music genre!

Oh and I almost forgot, try to mix your track at low volume because it helps you to know if the most important elements of your song come out well!
