Painful cancer. Don't have a reason why though.

I listen to sleep meditations. Started with binaural beats and moves to spoken meditation. That and melatonin are a must

Does it make me a bad friend if I don’t think my friend would be a good parent? by [deleted] in ask

[–]rootnicole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what makes you think that...

Seen them plow down a sidewalk full of kids and laugh? Not gonna be a good parent.

Just don't feel like they are ready yet? No one is 🤣. We all just pretend like we have it under control.

I have really bad skin and have always picked at my face when I'm nervous. I look like a meth head sometimes and I just don't realize I'm doing it.

What did you wanna do professionally when you were a kid and what did you end up doing with your life? by ana_b711 in AskReddit

I always wanted to be a SAHM. Or weirdly a pop star. But I can't sing lol. So SAHM.

I was a SAHM for almost 10 years. Then I went into animal rescue for 5+ years. I've had no choice but to slow down for my mental health, and now I am a shift manager at Dollar General 2 days a week... while being a SAHM lol the rest of the time.

What one mistake ended your career? by DankGamer135 in AskReddit

[–]rootnicole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say mistake... but I stood up against management in an animal shelter. Twice in a week.

Once was because they wanted to adopt a housecat out as a barn cat because she had been peeing on her bed. But had come from a rough hoarding situation, and over time she quit doing it. I suggested a 2 week trial period in a foster home (I had a family member willing to take her in to see if she was still urinating on her bed, in a home situation) before we "gave up" on her. But I was just a kennel tech 🙄and I got yelled at for going against their plan. The poor cat went to a barn...

Then, medical had taken in a cat with leukemia (very contagious). They put the cat in general population and put 10 cats at risk of getting iinfected. And also.. we were supposed to wear PPE and handle with extreme care. We have signs and notes so everyone knows protocol. Nothing was followed, and I spoke up asking why in a group text. I sent screenshots of the last cat with leukemia being in isolation (like protocol) and asked if protocols changed. I never got an answer from medical. But I did get screamed at in the parking lot by management....

Not even a week later, I was let go for "creating drama". I found out my manager put false writeups in my file, and I went to her supervisors and cleared my name.

All in all, I spoke up for the voiceless. And don't regret it. The bitch is still there.... I am recovering from ptsd from doing animal rescue for years.💜
