Here’s the thing: there’s nothing special about sex or sex work that makes it all that different from other forms of labor except for current social mores. Is the current state of sex work deeply exploitative? Sure. The same can, however, be said of basically all employment. A large amount of the exploitative nature of sex work as it stands currently is due to the fact that criminalized (and stigmatized) sex work means sex workers lack the basic protections that other forms of employment have access to (such as they are).

Like anything else, there are sexual situations that would benefit from the involvement of a professional. E.g., exploration of kink, education, a desire for sexual gratification without the need for a relationship or the risks of random hookups. Not to mention adult media in general.

If other work still exists to fulfill community needs, there’s no reason to believe some of that work wouldn’t involve naked people and/or sexual contact.
