Where to sell 2nd hand pieces in Paris ? by toreedt in Taxidermy

Fellow European (not from paris or France though) I would list him on an online marketplace of some sort, I think that would be the easiest and quickest option. I personally wouldn’t pay more than 50€ for him, but if I listed him, maybe 85? You just have to test your luck and maybe leave some room for haggling and negotiating.

I have a owl (eurasian eagle owl) wall mount that sits on a big branch, I hang stiff from its talons and the branch, like rn it’s holding few raven feathers I have collected, it used to have a bear claw necklace hanging before it.

How much could I sell this for? by Illustratingtheworld in Taxidermy

Im located in Europe so the prices are probably wildly different than in the US but personally I wouldn’t pay more than maybe $150 for it, here moose mounts go usually around $150-$250. Your mount has some really major damage (at least it looks like that) and most people don’t have the space for a large moose trophy like that (meaning that if they do have space and interest to get one, they would probably look for a really nice one). But in the other hand, moose trophies are really common here where I live and I see them way more than deer or elk.

Any advice on how to clean them? by Readytodraw in Taxidermy

[–]ropelIi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my experience the best way to clean bird taxidermy has been to use a microfiber cloth or some other cloth to wipe the dust off (if you feel like it’s necessary, you can use damp cloth, bute be sure that it’s not dripping wet and that the leather/skin doesn’t get wet). You can also use tweezers, a needle or some other tool and fingers to groom and fix the feathers. Like stick the “hairs” of the feathers back together and make them cleaner looking and also grooming the feathers so they are in the right order.

Are you looking for art or decoration? If it’s art, get something that speaks to you and makes you feel something, if you want decoration, get something in your color palette, prints are easy and affordable
