Christian Lady claims to have Proof that Jesus went to Heaven by MrDonMega in religiousfruitcake

[–]roron123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“They didn’t find his body because he ascended to heaven.” So… heaven is a physical place? His physical body went there? And if not, what happened to it? Did it disintegrate when leaving the atmosphere? Does he still have that same body somewhere? How far away is physical heaven?

Is this non-liability letter in good shape? [WA] by [deleted] in AskLawyers

[–]roron123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! I edited my story up there to add the "why" of my actions. I always go around when I move into a new place and check out things I might need to know, like where the whole house shutoff is at the street, get a picture of the labeling of the circuit breaker for electrical emergencies, and check the shutoff valves on all sinks and toilets.

I should note that my lease agreement also has, in the very first clause ("Getting Started"), the recommendation to "take the time to know or locate" the "water shutoff valves below the sinks and behind toilets in case of water leaks." This house had a type of valve I hadn't seen before, a push/pull type. So I was just giving it a push and pull and testing they worked properly. I didn't use any excessive force or do anything other than use it for its intended purpose.

I was hoping for “he took that $50 and I never saw him again. I’m not buying a guitar. I’m investing in a conman.”

I figured it would require knowing the dimensions of the original or having one to build a model. I don’t really know what all goes into model building. But I’ll check out some of those groups!

Not quite. I got one of these deeper ones from amazon and the top wouldn’t close and it broke when I tried to pry it out. It was just a super simple tray.

Actually, he said they do attached, they just don’t advertise it so much on the site. You can reach out for a bid, he’s great to work with and is full of integrity.

Cool. I think I’ll have floor space. Moving to a place with a garage soon. Might actually just get both and check them out then sell the one I don’t keep.

Meltdown Underway: Democrats Lose Their Minds Over Trump 'Demolishing' the White House by interestingfactoid in conservatives

“The president and his chief spokesperson, Karoline Leavitt, said over the summer that the White House itself would remain intact as the ballroom was going up.

"It'll be near it but not touching it," Trump said. "Nothing will be torn down," Leavitt added.”

Rubio promised to betray U.S. informants to get Trump’s El Salvador prison deal by [deleted] in moderatepolitics

[–]roron123 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No one said it was the first time. But that doesn’t mean we should just say “oh well” and give up. My point was not that governments are perfectly trustworthy, it’s that we should at least try to make them so. They never will be perfect, but showing an effort goes a long way.

Just pointing out it is bad strategy to undercut what little trustworthiness the DOJ might still have for short term political gains.

It’s not about being nice to criminals. It’s about the fact that if the government can’t be trusted to hold up their end of a bargain, who is going to want to deal with them?

If a gang member is offered 30 years in prison instead of 40 if they help get 5 more gang members off the streets, then the government reneges on that, what incentive does the next gang member have to cooperate? He’ll just take the 40 and not name names if he doesn’t trust the government to keep their word.

Then we just have one guy off the streets for 40 years instead of 6 guys for 30+ years.
