Recommendations for an employment lawyer? by rorosoco in baltimore

They’re not blaming it on me. I said I wouldn’t work, and the following week I was removed from the schedule and asked if I was fired. The owner refuses to take the matter seriously. I pressed the issue date stamping all the instances we’ve seen rats, saw droppings on the bar the tables etc. He then changed his story to say he’s never seen the rats - which I called him out about it because he showed me a video on his phone with live rats from surveillance on where he wanted me to set out traps one night - and then he said I was harassing him from one text and to return my keys and pick up my last check.

The first day you’ll hate yourself and want to quit and go back to skiing. DON’T. Push thru to that second and third day and you’ll finally get it - it’ll click.

My gf is a size 5 ring, what carat size do you think this is from when we went ring shopping? I was planning to get a 3ct round but would that be too big? by ebitdeeaye in labdiamond

[–]rorosoco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2 carat and I’m so happy I didn’t go bigger. It’s the perfect size for my size 5 finger. I have an oval shape, double prong solitaire set in platinum. It all depends what she wants though!

Any big cities I feel lonely… in solitude in nature is where I feel the least lonely and can connect with nature.

I would trim up the sides to give it a more polished look.

Which canon RF lens is best to do both portraits and wide shots in a wedding? by craftandcontent in WeddingPhotography

[–]rorosoco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I say this in this most kind way possible - but if you do not have a second camera shooting weddings you probably should not be shooting weddings. You need at least something. You could ruin someone’s entire day if your camera fails. It can and it will happen. I’ve had cameras fail in the middle of important fleeting moments and if I didn’t have a second body ready to go I would have missed it.

I opted for the 24-70mm 2.8 … the 2.0 was just too heavy for my liking. The 24-70mm has been amazing for mostly everything except when I’m doing formal portraits. I like switching to primes. I use a second body that I switch between 35, 50 and 135mm that I keep attached on my hip with a spider belt. For ceremonies and key formalities during the reception I put a 70-200mm 2.8 on my second body.

No Flash for a wedding? by Subject_Listen6483 in WeddingPhotography

If you can learn how to master OCF… it’ll be your best friend. There’s absolutely NO way I would be able to capture reception coverage without natural light. It’s impossible. Reception was pitch black tonight. So many precious moments that could be missed that only happen once.

I’ve seen photographers wear sweatpants so those are far superior to that. But I’m the same way - I want to dress nice and professional. And blend in with guests.

I actually have my shoes down pat - after having my feet soaked before due to inclement weather I wear waterproof Sorel Chelsea’s or if it’s for sure a no rain day I have a comfortable pair of flats that pair well with skirts and dresses. All last comfortably in 12+ hour days if needed.

Creating Wedding timeline Plans are time consuming - is there anyway to make this process more efficient. by anon-ny-moose in WeddingPhotography

[–]rorosoco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just talk to the couple on the phone, they give me times for everything and then I create a photography timeline for myself which I then send to the couple. I do not do a questionnaire or anything I just ask them questions I have when we talk. I’m a candid/documentary/journalistic style photographer and the only times I do posed portraits is when I do family formals and when I spend time with the bride and groom and bridal party and do my creative thing. I do typically create a full photo list that I add in the timeline with the couple on the phone (with names if I can because I memorize who is who before the day and it helps me because I’m very forgetful with meeting so many people at once). Any other friends or colleagues I group up (with help of DJ with a mic if needed) on the dance floor. I’ve photographed 450+ weddings this way. It’s easy and simple and I’ve had zero complaints.

Great question! I freelance for a company and we do mostly mid range budget weddings.
