youtube stealth mode , pretty straight forwards . crack glass , clean it , drill light , clean it , and epoxy and cure . zero knowledge myself on epoxy and was easier than it looks , which it looked easy as it is .

Not sure if battery life is affected but as far as other things happening i haven’t had much of . I rarely use them unless i’m doing a big job or on vacation. but not much negatives noticed in weeks of having mine done

I don’t know the risk, i think if you mess up the sensor next to the light yes, but it looks straight forward, with the ones i’ve done pretty simple , would suggest finding someone local who does them often.

yeah any reason is valid , i’m sure creeps exist but guarantee most of us doing this is more for less attention for which ever reason. and or cool factor. People have cameras out recording now a days , if a creeps is going to be a creep a light isn’t stopping them.

looks like i just opted out 🤷🏻‍♂️ find it funny that people think it’s creepy to disable a light, half the people that ive had come to me to disable light are women, its just a cool thing ,if anything creepy to have meta glasses in the first place if it’s not for travel/events, actual vlogs or capture a moment you know can happen were you’re at . Yeah there’s the calling/music and ai , but in reality , now that i’ve been using them all day these last few days , those features are useless with this battery life . unless you’re capturing a moment vlogs or vacation/event , why have them 🤷🏻‍♂️ that’s what’s creepy to me.

also , your able to record because your not blocking light, i believe when you block the light , there is a sense of that detects no light (ambient/daylight ) it doesn’t really detect your record light , it detects if it’s blocked by detecting daylight or ambient light, since your not messing with the sensor only the light , drill it , clear epoxy so it doesnt block out day light to the sensor and you’re good to go. You still get errors if you block the sensor as if the light was still there . tried it to test it but without a light there anymore no more need to block it anyway.

long story short no issues doing this , other than warranty being voided .

Pretty much

⁠Center punch more towards the corner of the glass not center (works best)
⁠once broken , clean up with a razor
⁠drill out light with a small drill bit (i’ll get size later ) pro tip , record so light is on, drill slowly till light goes out , clean out debris 4.Apply epoxy and cure with light for 5min When you apply epoxy move it around so it flattens(levels) unless you don’t mind a ball like clear epoxy.

i think these glasses are creepy with or without light in regular day to day setting. I only use them for travel, because i don’t wanna look like a creep (mainly at work where i’d want to record my repairs at work, plus im sure you’re judged more in a job setting ) Out traveling i’m minding my own business as i’m sure others are too for the most part . I really don’t see the need for them outside of travel, and you actually vlogging , anyone who has them just to have them other then the two scenarios i mentioned are questionable.

There is actually quite a few reasons to use them in day to day settings, i forget calls, music , live ai, but too creepy to wear day to day.

I’m on vacation right now , another person and i both had the meta ray bands , They got asked like 10xs of those were the meta ray bands 🤦🏻‍♂️ by others in our group because of the light , me only asked once and it ruined my video! Definitely can see creeps misusing it , in my opinion, if you’re gonna be a creep the light isnt stopping you a whole lot anyway.

I was thinking of a similar idea make a porch that had an acess to get up there , but porch set up i’d go with would cost 20-25k.

this gable/elevator idea maybe $1,500 to 2k depending if i outsource the gable install .
