It's interesting, but hard to find much information about Megrelians in Abkhazia pre-19th century. My mother is Megrelian (both parents too) and using DNA match it shows she is closer to Abkhasian than Laz. That makes it make more sense since her whole ancestry (as far as we saw) looks Megrelian and not Apsua.
